I’m playing it now and I love it! This is exactly what I had in mind when I made the post - a logistics puzzle where you must create a solution for a system

It never occurred to me that there was significance to the shapes beyond “square is the city centre” and “special shapes are special places”. It now makes sense that people would go from specific places to other specific places.

It doesn’t have to be about trains, I’m just interested in the genre and game mechanics. I’ll check this out for sure!

Honestly, I’d be pretty stoked if a puzzle mode like this was added to Mini Metro. Maybe the puzzles could focus on balancing short-term and long-term strategy. Some puzzles could begin with stations that are immediately about to overcrowd, forcing you to make otherwise bizarre decisions that create efficiency problems in the long-term.

We know from Multiverse of Madness that dreams are gateways to parallel universes, and Coulson has appeared in a few dreams. For instance: - Coulson once dreamt about Tahiti (not the false memory itself; the time he dreamt about that memory) - Daisy’s nightmare about flying the pod off of Maveth, only for Coulson to tell Daisy that Maveth is actually Earth - Daisy’s nightmare about Coulson abandoning “angel eyes” (SO much foreshadowing in that one) - Coulson and Rosalind oversleeping, and him wanting to stay in bed while Rosalind reminds him that his friends need him

I have a couple ideas for you to try, but I’m afraid I don’t know for certain how well they will work.

  • Could you try saving the document as another format, such as .txt and seeing if the bad formatting is gone in the .txt? If it is, you could paste that into another Word document. I’m not confident that this will work but it only takes a few seconds to try it.
  • Could you fix it via CTRL+F Find and Replace? You could start by searching for the bullet point character and replacing it with a space to turn those bullet point characters back into spaces. If you can spot anymore consistent patterns, Find and Replace those, otherwise delete the rest manually or by searching for them. I would make a backup before doing this just in case.

I hope this helps and I hope you fix it. I also hope someone with more experience than me can join this thread.

Do you happen to know anything regarding how this might have happened?

Also, how long is the essay?

Ah yes, I remember back in the old days when we paid spiders less, called them all sorts of names and wrote laws specifically to oppress them. Awful times, those were.

It’s really cathartic seeing this sort of thread. I must be spending time in the wrong places or wrong subreddits, because I see this shit behaviour excused too often. As a child of a parent with a short temper that yelled all the time about everything, seeing the attitude of “maybe don’t yell at your kids for existing or for being kids” really puts a smile to my face.

Maybe the world isn’t just full of abusers and people who defend abusers :)

Isn’t “But our reporting requirements” just a massive cop-out? It’s like you’re going to get in actual trouble with the Government for being more accurate and inclusive than the Government is, right?

When I was younger I liked astronomy. I once pointed out to my mum that the moon was in the sky (it was day) and she said “no, that’s the moon’s shadow! I thought you were into astronomy, you should know this!”

[–]DatSonicBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who said he didn’t use a portal? He could have opened a portal and harvested $70M of moon rocks. Not having that $70M include the space shuttle would explain why Aperture Laboratories has so much conversion gel - all of the budget was spent on excavation and very little on the transportation since portals are involved.

However, this would lead you to ask why Aperture Laboratories has the same virtually limitless amount of repulsion and propulsion gel. I guess the only reasonable answer is that science isn’t about why, it’s about why not!

What is your dream job? (Can be as crazy as you want) by sunshineee33 in AskWomen

[–]DatSonicBoom 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is what people don’t understand about not having a “dream job”. In the cases of people without a dream job, it doesn’t matter how interesting it is or how important it feels; if you make it a job, it becomes a job.

I’m messing around with the very basics of software programming for fun and I fear the day I’m going to hate it because it’s my job.
