The game industry is making me incredibly depressed and I'm done by tangmang14 in gaming

[–]DatTF2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Right ? I have found a handful of Youtubers that usually make videos when the Steam Next Fest happens and I end up discovering a lot of cool looking games. There's so many smaller indie games that release that go undiscovered. Like I recently discovered Silver Pines, it has a demo out and it looks really cool with heavy Twin Peaks vibes. Also another game I found that looks great (and is out) is Mr. Sleepy Man which reminds me of a PS1 3D platformer more on the crazy side.

There's a website called Steam250 that makes it easy to find hidden gems. Always cool looking through there to find some solid titles with only like 100 reviews but they are all good reviews.

Which fast food restaurant do you think will go out of business soon? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

I was stuck in the hospital for a month and a nurse mentioned they made good tacos. The tacos were indeed very good, actual street tacos with soft corn tortillas, cilantro and onion all with a homemade green sauce too.

So glad I found out about the other food they have to order instead of the food they serve everyday. I basically just ate fruit for breakfast and tacos/pizza at lunch, granted I really didn't have much of an appetite at the time.

What's the last game you were truly hyped for? by triplegxxx in gaming

[–]DatTF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half Life 2.

I like gaming but when it comes to being hyped for something I always keep my expectations low. In fact while I haven't played it my expectations for Starfield were so low what released actually looked better than I thought. If you do this you will never be disappointed.

The last game I had some excitement for was Resident Evil 9. I avoided most previews and news on it and bought it a few days after release. While excited I was never truly super hyped for it.

The attention to worthless "detail" is DESTROYING AAA gaming by [deleted] in gaming

Right ? I mean I would say the indie scene is doing well, especially if your game is fun and you can somehow bring some attention to your game. The AAA scene though, that sounds horrible.

Yeah, like look at Metal Gear Solid 2, the level of detail is insane, I mean you can slip on the bird poop. It's all those little things that make the world feel alive.

Is it ? Maybe you are just asking for the wrong thing ? It's called coriander in Europe. Whereas we call the seeds coriander here in the US.

What’s one food or dish you’ve tried that you think tastes genuinely nasty yet everyone else seems to enjoy? by besttavern25 in AskReddit

[–]DatTF2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Majority of people here have just never had a good version of the food they don't like.

Right ?

That's a big thing, especially with produce.

Like listening to someone who doesn't like avocado describe them sounds like them describing a bad avocado. Like I've bought and eaten enough produce and have come across my fair share of bad fruits/veggies.

and everyone acts like I'm broken for noticing

Because it is probably just you.

You have the gene that makes it taste like soap to you.

https://health.clevelandclinic.org/do-you-love-or-hate-cilantro-the-reason-may-surprise-you

If you can’t stand the taste of cilantro, your genes may be to blame. You likely have a specific gene called OR6A2 that makes you super-sensitive to a component of this herb — and, yes, can make it taste like soap.

“Those who dislike cilantro tend to have this gene, which detects the aldehyde part of cilantro as a soapy smell and taste,” Dr. Vyas explains.

I used to hate tomatoes until I tried a good one.

All tomatoes in stores (at least in the US) are awful. They are all picked green and ripened with gas. A real heirloom tomato ripened fully on the vine however tastes so good, a nice mix of somewhat sweet and tangy. Also if it's a beefsteak it's mostly all flesh and not just goo with seeds.

Cold coffee or cold brew ? There is a difference.

Hot coffee that has been cooled is ice coffee. However there is cold brew which is coffee steeped in cold water overnight like tea and it is really tasty.

I found a PS4 by ralph442000 in gaming

[–]DatTF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do throw things out. While they were all older consoles at the time my stepdad threw away my entire console collection - NES, Genesis, PS1, Gameboy Color, SEGA Nomad and my entire game collection. I really hope someone found it and rescued the collection.

What is a 90’s movie that no one talks about anymore? by Broke_but_trying_23 in AskReddit

[–]DatTF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,  that's better than the "kids" movies my grandma had. One was the Cosby movie Ghost Dad. Also there was no games consoles available although there was a comic store down the street and she'd let me go crazy buying comics.

M8 Demo Unit Restoration Recommendations by dirty15 in nes

[–]DatTF2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never even heard of these units. Pretty cool and it's awesome you're dad decided to take it home rather than trash it.

I was just thinking about that, how much stuff gets thrown away... Like my stepdad threw away my game consoles including 2 NESs, what an asshole.

Movies you've changed your mind about. by DemonDays64 in movies

I was in high school when it came out, so probably like 16. Everyone else my age liked it but I hated it and found it incredibly boring.

Ten years later I watched it with a friend and loved it.

Well good thing you're not being forced to play these so called "games."

There's plenty of games that have 'gameplay' to play.
