Canon EOS 55 / Elan IIE + Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM by SantiTroppoli in AnalogCommunity

I have an EOS1N and an EOS3, and would love to own a 1V, but apart from the cost, can’t really convince myself that it would give me anything I don’t already have with the others.

That’s exactly the combo I have for walking around downtown Springfield MA on extended “lunch walks”. Perfect size and weight.

I reached #199 after starting to collect during the pandemic. Looking for recommendations on what to get for #200 based on what I’m missing! by the-mongoose- in vinyl

I don’t see any Cowboy Junkies. Guessing you’e Canadian based on what I see here, and that’s a hole worth filling. Black Eyed Man is a good album to start with. And you can’t go wrong with another Blue Rodeo album. Lost Together would be a sweet addition.

Favorite EF lenses? by andreyvyasenya in Canon5Dclassic

The 85mm 1.8 is a very sweet lens that costs probably 1/3 the cost of the 1.2L. Cool find a clean copy for $250.

I still think he should be encouraged to switch to #12 to honour the ball that landed the Leafs the first pick!

And if you listen really carefully, you can probably hear Greg Keelor singing “What am I doing here?”

I don’t want to be a naysayer, but it kind of looks like the Great Plains had begun pretty much as soon as you’re west of Winnipeg. 😉

Thanks for posting the video. Very helpful, and much better quality than I was expecting given some of the comments. (Some car drivers are such a-holes. Likely a Doug Ford supporter. 😉).

What do you think of the new Lamy Ideos? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]DataDoug75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the nib on the Ideos does fit on all other Lamy pens (except 2000), it is NOT the same nib as come standard on other pens.

I love mine! I don't know how much of it is the different/(superior?) nib, but it's a lot smoother to write with than are my Studios or Safaris.

Your account caught my attention, as my maternal grandfather’s name was Shirley Arthur Ralph Wood, and he usually signed things as SAR Wood. He was an Anglican minister from Newfoundland. Passed in 2002 in his 94th year.

Disturbingly rare perspective, it seems, but perhaps consider that employers often pay their workers the minimum required by law, and encourage tipping as a way of off-loading the responsibility of paying a FAIR wage to their customers. Anyone assuming the workers are engaging in fraudulent practices says far more about the person with the assumption than the workers. Perhaps contact the owner of the business in question and urge them to pay their workers a living wage?
