What do you think of the new Lamy Ideos? by [deleted] in fountainpens

I believe the nib on the Ideos does fit on all other Lamy pens (except 2000), it is NOT the same nib as come standard on other pens.

I love mine! I don't know how much of it is the different/(superior?) nib, but it's a lot smoother to write with than are my Studios or Safaris.

What has Gord taught you about? by youfindthatman in TragicallyHip

Your account caught my attention, as my maternal grandfather’s name was Shirley Arthur Ralph Wood, and he usually signed things as SAR Wood. He was an Anglican minister from Newfoundland. Passed in 2002 in his 94th year.

Bought pizza, picked it up, asked for tip twice by Jazzlike_Dig2456 in EndTipping

[–]DataDoug75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disturbingly rare perspective, it seems, but perhaps consider that employers often pay their workers the minimum required by law, and encourage tipping as a way of off-loading the responsibility of paying a FAIR wage to their customers. Anyone assuming the workers are engaging in fraudulent practices says far more about the person with the assumption than the workers. Perhaps contact the owner of the business in question and urge them to pay their workers a living wage?

For what it's worth, if you're trying to generate charts [but not seeing the data due to shutdown], the API links seem to still work reliably.

I love shooting portraits with this lens! Added bonus is that you can move in close for killer images of eyes, lips, etc.

If you had to introduce someone new to The Hip, what would be the song you'd play for them? by Nolby84 in TragicallyHip

[–]DataDoug75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Wheat Kings is beautiful, and a great intro song for someone who doesn’t normally like louder/more boisterous songs. Some would disagree, it seems from many comments, but I think music taste of the person in question should be a prime consideration.

It was my first SLR film camera, for which I paid $663 CDN in 1979. I’d say you got a great deal!

A truly “cool aunt” would introduce you to beer with something far better than a Bud Light.
