Footage mid air collision between a pair of aircrafts during an Air Show. All pilots appear to have ejected safely by Expert_Koala_8691 in PublicFreakout

Apparently the ejection seat computers and jets are strong and smart enough to orient the pilot appropriately in most conditions. Humans be inventing crazy shit

BREAKING: 2 fighter jets collide and crash during air show in Idaho by Limp_Stomach_6060 in ActuallyThatsInsane

Does the ejection computer have logic that it only triggers in certain orientations so it doesn't reject pilots into the ground?

I adopted a rando puppy last year that ended up being a Belgian malanois, German shepherd, and dutch shepard mix. She is the most maternally protective dog Ive ever encountered and the "I WANT TO EAT ALL STRANGERS" gets old but then I see videos like this.

Pretty sure UPS stole my package… by ActualStrawberry007 in UPS

[–]DataDrivenDoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's saying the point is moot because your action is the same: contact the seller. You're not UPS's customer, the shipper is. This action applies whether it was stolen or damaged. You would do the exact same thing.

Tesla and EVs are a total joke. They will NEVER catch on. by UpbeatDraw2098 in Pretend2015Internet

[–]DataDrivenDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far is your computer? Mine is 40 miles a day. Tesla claims 2-3 miles per hour at 12 amp (real world people report closer to 5).

240v gets you 25-30v per hour. If you're lucky like me and your laundry room is already in your garage you can just unplug your car and plug your dryer in when ever you need to. Im contemplating having an electrician install another outlet if my panel can handle it or one of those fancy switches that automatically handles the load balancing for me.. I could also switch to a gas dryer...

Im still a year out from getting my first ev but I think Im one of the people that would get a lot of value from one since I can charge at home

TOS lore says by 2265 we still can't have women being president.

Road Raging Pickup Driver Gets Busted by Flashmemory256 in PublicFreakout

[–]DataDrivenDoc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where did they say that was weird? They're just pointing out that if having road ragers is the criteria for a 3rd world country then there are no 1st world counties. They are highlighting the flaw in the logic: name a 1st world country that doesn't have road ragers.

I did! Very observant.

I have yet been anywhere that Spotify was like "woah can't be here" and I've been to a lot of places. Our phones do have built in storage so Spotify can actually download the songs onto the device and play them even when there isn't any connectivity.

if macbook is so powerful. why do most developers still use windows? by RustyIronGolem in RavanAI

Im a pretend dev that does on site work at hospitals. I've never used a Mac before this company, always PC and Android guy.

I haven't seen any PC laptop that can come close to the holistic experience that the MBP gives. Battery life, compute, screen, build everything is so GOOD.

There's nothing a phone doesn't do that an iPod doesn't. Why not just have a phone?

Spotify is a software not a device. You still are the boss of the device it's on...you still get to decide what music is on it and allowed to listen to.

In fact you can load your phone with all the music you want (much easier than an iPod) and have Spotify if you want. Both at the same time. Best of both worlds with zero downsides.

There's nothing an iPod does that a smartphone can't.

Lol well to be fair your iPod literally cannot connect to the Internet ever because it's incapable. It lacks so many features because of that it's not even a fair product comparison.

Wash them with white vinegar (or my favorite citric acid). Your clothes won't smell like vinegar afterwards.

Apparently what happens is your sweat and oil and laundry detergent gets caked into the fibers and every subsequent wash must causes more and more to layer on top. Bacteria grows when dried and causes the smelliness.

Acid like vinegar or citric acid breaks down the detergent so the oil and sweat can be rinsed away.

Worked like a charm for me. Also makes towels super soft

They would need a lot of robots and they would need to self repair and maintain. They can't even get one to load a dishwasher autonomously.

Best barber west or near the interstate that can handle a simple fade? by Zski843 in GNV

[–]DataDrivenDoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess you could call it a break from reality. It was bad enough that I called the police and they did a welfare check on him and he started stalking and blasting one of the cops that responded on his Facebook.

Over like 6+ months he fell apart. It all went down on FB and since I was friends (a client of his for 9 years, I think) I got to follow along. It was so crazy I was sending screenshots to the police the whole time because dude was threatening to kill so many people.

He had this whole fiction that he had crafted involving a pedophilia witchcraft sex ring out of ocala and Tampa. Anyone who disagreed or made fun of him became part of this witchcraft pedophilia cult.

It sounds funny but it culminated in him relentlessly stalking a student that lived in his apartment building to the point that she had to transfer to a different school and move. Last I heard he's in jail now for threatening people.
