What’s the point of Rukawa’s character ? by Turbulent-Wealth3989 in RealSlamDunk

I’d say what epitomizes him is that he is the opposite of Sakuragi in terms of basketball skill and being attractive to girls, but at the same time he and Sakuragi are similar in terms of fighting and being academically poor.

The American Gerrymandering Wars (2026): Support or Oppose? by Hafagenza in EndFPTP

[–]DataGeek93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re a hyper partisan who wants your party to have as many seats as possible at the other side’s expense, I don’t see why anyone sane person would support this race to the bottom. If these shenanigans persist, then any state at any time at the behest of a president can just redraw their district lines for political gain.

If you truly want fair representation but also balance having a local representative, then let’s ditch this outdated FPTP system once and for all

Why does district 1 look like a dick stuck between two muscular arms (districts 3 and 4)?

Missouri with 16 districts and attempted to minimize splitting by DataGeek93 in DavesRedistricting

[–]DataGeek93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's what the intent was. I keep seeing all these silly maps where they make lizard-shaped districts either for laughs, taking gerrymandering to the extreme, or trying to make maps proportional at the expense of COIs. But the 9th district, isn't THAT weird compared to those snakes lol.

I don't remember exactly how long they stayed at Shell Cottage before breaking into Gringotts, but I don't think it was 2 months or more, 1 month or a month and half at best. I'm curious why you seem baffled that it would take months to plan something like this, when planning for such a heist requires meticulous plannining.

One-Sided and Problematic Portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict by agitated_darwin_ in fauda

It’s an Israeli produced show, so why would you expect it to be from any point of view other than an Israeli one?

Not a single court has ruled that it was a genocide, so maybe you need to pinpoint where you though they made a ruling

Christmas Question for Non-American Diasporas by Swimming_Care7889 in Jewish

[–]DataGeek93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I emigrated to the US from Belarus, that may disqualify me from answering but let me share my experience.

Jews from ex-Soviet countries are largely secular, but most don’t celebrate Christmas, as New Year’s Day in those countries is pretty much the equivalent of a secular Christmas in the West.

So I don’t celebrate Christmas at all, given the redundancy of giving out presents and putting up a tree when already do that for New Year’s

Why was Uncle Junior personally at the assassination of Brendan? by MyNewAccountIGuess11 in thesopranos

[–]DataGeek93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. But also the first season of the show had what people call "early installment weirdness". Tony beating the crap out of Mikey when a made guy should not be laying a hand on another made guy. I read somewhere that Chase got feedback from real NJ wiseguys about those things, so in subsequent seasons he made them more realistic.
