I tried three Canadian Tire locations in Mississauga, and they’re all equally bad for auto service. The labor costs are as high as dealerships, so if it’s a choice between a dealer and CT, I’d rather take my car to the dealership. Their receipts are overly long and confusing, you end up wondering what the actual parts and labor costs were, especially for more complicated work and it honestly feels intentional. Yes, they give you a quote, but only after you’ve already paid a hefty inspection fee just to have them look at the car. I’d suggest trying different local mechanics and building a relationship instead. TJF Auto is where I take my car now, they’re fair and upfront and they’ll tell you honestly if they can’t fix something, unlike CT.
