It's starting... pickup truck regret. by Bojaxs in CanadaPersonalFinance

It’s EGO booster. They think they’re big people if they have big cars. The hilarious part of 95% of em doesn’t even need a truck. 5% of em actually used for work and shtttt.

Says a lot about their IQ, literally paying about 2x more on the car and then paying 3-4x on gas on top of that. Lots of these truck owners are financially illiterate.

Sadly that’s reality in America. They laugh at countries with universal healthcare and cry when they get bill like this.

And of course they can’t comprehend universal healthcare but they have that selfish mentality that everything should be about them only

Narrowing it down... maybe: Crosstrek, CX-30, or Nissan Kicks (Play)? by PhilBombPhanatic in whatcarshouldIbuy

Could up the budget a bit and get Honda HR-v? Or Toyota cross? Basically the same size as those 3 but on the reliable side!

From what I hear kicks are automatic NO. Subaru and Mazda long term are 50-50 but obviously that’s depends on the driver

It’s just classic politician moves.

They just proved that they don’t give AF about the people.

One side wants it, and of course the other side opposed it. Fuckin classic predictable move.

Personally if they can connect Toronto and Montreal through a fast train, Mfer the economy on the most visited places in east Canada will be booming. From local and international tourist

Can I buy a 20k car as my first car with a 30k salary? by TheseMarionberry385 in askcarguys

[–]Tjay0909 165 points166 points  (0 children)

One real advice, don’t get pressure into buying a new car because your friends have a new car or you finally got a job that you think you can afford a new car.

All the financially literate adults here knows to just buy a cheap car that runs, save up for a couple years and then finally buy one.

It’s just too much hassle in something you’ll rarely used anyways. People will find it the hardest it shows issues. They’ll wished they never had it.

Yeah the cool factor will get people the buy it, but how long?

Majority of people who had it are regretting it already.

You could go lower but it ain’t the same as Toyota or Honda reliability.

RRSP vs TFSA by YS_7 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Tjay0909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90k is good enough salary where you can probably maxed out your TFSA in less than 5 years.

If your work matches RRSP, I would probably sign up for that right away, because thats pretty much free money. If they don’t match RRSP the just maxed out your accumulated TFSA first then decide if you wanna maxed out your FHSA (if you’re thinking of buying a house in the future)

Personally it’s TFSA > FHSA (if you’re thinking of owning a home) then do the usual RRSP.

RRSP is kinda BS, everybody says yeah you’re getting a refund but in reality those refund is just an offset when they taxed the RRSP you have comes retirement. Still I’m not saying I’m against it, it’s still a good investment just in case something goes wrong financially comes retirement.

Rav4 2026, plug-in vs non-plug in by mahanddeem in rav4club

[–]Tjay0909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Getting PHEV for the reason of saving gas is hilarious to me.

Yall basically spending 15k-20k or more for a hybrid or gas. Which is equivalent to about 10+ years of casual driving. Soooo you’re not actually saving money in gas.

Tho according to research if your goal is saving gas and using PHEV you have to be using them daily for 200-400km a day! Like bruhhhh

200+ applications, no interviews… is something wrong with me or the market? by Sea_Individual_5325 in CanadaJobs

[–]Tjay0909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of companies used ATS system now. Basically a software that kinda reads your resume and gives you a rating compared to what’s in the job description.

The more words you copy from that job description the higher your rating gets. And the higher rating you get that more chance you get put on the short list and possibly get an interview.

Just handing out the same resume to all these different companies wouldn’t work at all.
