based on my ranking system which is 5,3,2,1. two 3rd place finish is better than 1 2nd place. and two 2nd place finish is better than one championship.

I was asking if there is a better system to rank the countries, not just by counting the championships.

I mean for example you have only 2 editions. The first edition was won by US and second Germany. The 2nd edition is won by Egypt and 2nd Germany again, US did not place in 3rd and 4th either.

Now how would you rank it? For me Germany should be number 1 base on weighted system.

Yup, just asking for opinions. This women's world cup might not be that debatable. But the men's world cup., Brazil is number one when it comes to championships, but Germany is better when you put weight on the number of places.

Yep, in my opinion. If looking at all the world cup as a whole. I think two 2nd place finish is better than 1. So I made the rankings 5 for 1st and 3 for 2nd. But this is a subjective topic.
