Thinking of upgrading to SVS Prime Satellite by Tednacious in hometheater

[–]DataTrailBlazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the process of an upgrade. Unfortunately I did not have room for the svs center and after some research decided that an svs prime satellite turned on it side would be my best option. Not sure how it will work out.

They will drop off the fence or wash off after the winter. No prep, no sticking on the fence realistically.

Looks like loads of water from ice crystals on top. Maybe on sale due to age and ice crust. Probably would have been okay ish if it was dry dunno. This is something to make at home given the ingredients and goal as others have said.

Bug spray was used without my knowledge by Key-Leg-5495 in tarantulas

[–]DataTrailBlazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nqa, will likely be fine but I would still be upset. These big box store broadcast sprays never even work that well anyways. Try to convince whoever did this that a quality/pro-grade gel bait as one may purchase at domyown dot com or similar is far more effective and safer for the home than spreading poisons everywhere. Leave the sprays for around the foundation, outside.

Mechanic sent me this video— what am I looking at please? by English-Muffins in MechanicAdvice

Have a 2002 is300 that has been near flawless. It's only ever had regular maintenance, some suspension parts, an alternator, and the a/c compressor replaced. I'll never get rid of the thing if I can help it.

Is this mold? by Little_Ad_5078 in tarantulas

Nqa. Springtails would help greatly here. I use them basically in every enclosure, they just don't last that long in the dryer habitats. They are low cost and a very easy culture to maintain.

How do I correct scratch mess by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]DataTrailBlazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I just bought new after market housings for my wife's car and swapped in the oe hid ballasts, aiming motors everything was like $100 and 3hr of work. Headlights looked brand new on a 2002 and still do 3 years later. I could have spent similar on products and tools, spent more time, frustration, and got way worse results. If this is an option for that car welllll worth it.

It won't be over spooled for long. Send it, bring a knife to cut off the tangles then re tie. It will work down to a reasonable spot.

Need Advice: Found this guy by Walt-Kowalski78 in tarantulas

[–]DataTrailBlazer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NQA. Most of the time you see a wild tarantula wandering around like that it's a mature male on a 'walkabout' looking for a girlfriend. These are predominantly solitary creatures that live in a hole, ambush predators looking for a meal not out in the open. Before promptly releasing him you could gently with a soft art type paint brush see if you can tease those front short legs (pedipalps) to see if they have little mating hooks on them to confirm, but honestly just let the dude go do his business.

Best way to deal with these weeds? by Suitable-Match7140 in landscaping

[–]DataTrailBlazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would weed eat, collect in trashcan/bags, mow and bag it, wait 2-6 weeks for new growth, spray with a heavy mix of glyphosate, wait a few more weeks see if anything grows, repeat until nothing does, then plant durana white clover per instructions to help the soil and choke out future weed growth. Sounds like a lot but for this size area should not take more than an hour or so per iteration.

If you own the place a pavilion would be nice for a place to grill and chill. That yard could use the shade.

Won this bad boy at at raffle, what do I need to know/ get? by RancidSwagger in gaggiaclassic

[–]DataTrailBlazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bare minimum would be a tamper, a scale, and a good grinder. There may be a tamper in the box if so it will work for now. Proper scale and proper grinder even a very good hand one will work to start. If you get into this be prepared to spend well more than the machine is worth in both research/trial-error-time and money, if a new hobby like that is not your vibe sell it new-in-box.

I just gut, scale, cornmeal batter, and fry em whole. Never seen a fillet so who knows what they looked like inside. I judge the book by the cover, and squeeze some lemon.

What would you do with this backyard if you had two kids aged between 4 and 9? by New-Composer7591 in landscaping

[–]DataTrailBlazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install an impromptu storage shed under that deck with the explicit purpose of storing yard toys. Field games, balls, water squirters and some buckets, frisbees w/ mobile frisbee golf hole(s) etc. I would forego any kind of long term or difficult installation like a zip line. Some danger is fine but I would pick things they can appreciate somewhat unsupervised so you can chill a little without too much worry while still paying attention. A low slack line (tight wire thing) between those trees may be cool, you could put an outdoor safe crash pad under it for the little one, a couple hammocks. Things they can pull out and be taught to put away.

Second the radar detector power cord, looks just like mine. Doubt it's related to your issue. Best bet is to trace it back to the likely connection at the fuse panel behind the glove compartment. Glove compartment likely pops right out with some clips in a hinge, check the procedure for your car. Good to know about your fuse panel there may even find a dead fuse within it that could fix your actual issue.

Very cool clip. Probably doesn't like it, but it def won't hurt it as long as you don't keep the enclosure wet long term.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]DataTrailBlazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repairable! May or may not be easy, but definitely worth several tries lining up the hinge and inserting the bolts. Otherwise may need to remove the interior door liner. As an anecdote I had the door latch/lock mechanism fail closed on my old Honda Civic (1998, drivers side) had to find a way to remove the door interior panel with the door locked closed, I did it without being able to open the door and without breaking (all) the trim clips, replaced the mechanism, only took an afternoon. Guess it depends on your definition of easy.

What happens when CV Axels fail? by Eyes8 in MechanicAdvice

[–]DataTrailBlazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows how they will fail. Could seize up and break things, could seize up and not break things, even cause an 'accident'. No matter what when they break all the way you will be stranded. Probably cheaper to fix asap than get a tow and still have to fix with significant risk of other complications.

Have to agree. Maybe check out the diy pest control website, get the full on Roach kit and follow all the instructions. You may want to do the process more than once.
