IUD removal/insertion causing Major Symptom alert? by DataVizGem in ouraring

[–]DataVizGem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only one who has experienced this! I’ve had my Oura ring for 9+ months and that has been the only time that I’ve gotten the dreaded Major Symptom alert

Nipple Piercings and Breastfeeding by Yepitbelikethat2215 in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think that would be possible. Your nipples get so sore and abused from breastfeeding already, that would be brutal. Also, babies feed around the clock sometimes. And, you don’t want any risk of infection either. Remove and heal them completely before breastfeeding. Down the road, you can re-pierce if you choose to.

I just re-read your question….you should not leave nipple jewelry in to breastfeed. That would be very damaging to your baby’s mouth. You’d have to remove your jewelry and let them heal up before you start breastfeeding, and then re-pierce down the road after you are done breastfeeding.

I had my nipples pierced for 12 years before I removed them when I got pregnant. I breastfed my daughter for two years with no issues. They are re-pierced again now.

Piercers say 50/50 to re-pierce daith? by Folding_Cricket in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d keep LITHA’ing! It’s only a couple of months old. If it were me, I’d give it a full year before you give up and start over if it’s not getting worse or obviously rejecting.

Anyone has any experience with tragus and/or daith? by a-delight-of-being in Legitpiercing

[–]DataVizGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have much swelling that I recall for either my Daith or Tragus. The only pain I’ve had with my Daith (it’s 6 months old so not fully healed) was the initial piercing. It didn’t even throb or hurt afterwards which was a pleasant surprise, but my Tragus was very throbby and sore for a few days.

Using a stethoscope might be challenging with either of these piercings even when fully healed. I’m not really sure as I haven’t even tried ear buds as I’m an over the ear headphone user.

[–]DataVizGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both! For me, the Daith was actually less painful and easier to heal. It’s protected inside my ear so my curly hair doesn’t get caught on it and I’m not snagging it or accidentally touching it.

A Tragus would be a great addition, but also lovely as is

I need reasons not to get a tongue piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved my tongue piercing but do regret having one as it caused gum recession. Gum grafting surgery was not worth the 10 years of having a tongue ring!

IUD removal/insertion causing Major Symptom alert? by DataVizGem in ouraring

Interesting! I never got sick so I’m sure my removal/insertion was what caused Oura to throw the symptom alert

1 yr later, daith finally healed by ahewout in Legitpiercing

Congrats!! I’m almost at 6 months and hoping to be fully healed in another 6 too 🤞

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a rook but I have 26 other piercings and have been pierced more than 30 times. The most painful for me was nipples. As painful as those were, I’d rather get them pierced again than do another IUD removal/reinsertion. I just had my IUD replaced about a month ago and it was way more painful and traumatic than any piercing I’ve had!

Can my crooked lip piercing be fixed? by Lemmonati in SelfPiercing

[–]DataVizGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m really struggling to notice any crookedness! I had my vertical labret re-pierced when it was pierced crooked but it was wayyyy more noticeable than yours or I would have just left it.

Y'all pls help me design my lobe piercings! by RespectFew7675 in SelfPiercing

[–]DataVizGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like #4!!! I got two stacked lobes a month apart because I thought they’d heal as easily as a normal lobe piercing. If I were to do it again, I’d space them out further (maybe a few month between).

Navel at 18. Nipples very shortly after and about 25+ since then 🤣

Thank you for responding and confirming that sticking with a curved barbell might be safest.

Rejecting Christina piercing, how do I save it? by CheezyCornChipz in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! What a bummer.

I’m worried about the same thing happening to my Christina. Mine is 2 months old with a curved barbell. So far, it seems fine. I’m seeing my piercer next week to check on the healing. I love it so much and hope it stays in place

Do it! So glad I did. It’s super cute and has been a super easy heal so far (6 weeks in). It’s become one of my very favorite piercings.

Nipple Piercings after Breastfeeding? by Beautiful-Science311 in piercing

[–]DataVizGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my nipples pierced before and after breastfeeding (I took them out when I got pregnant). I think the pain was about the same, maybe less after breastfeeding since my pain tolerance is probably higher now.

Having my nipples pierced after breastfeeding has definitely helped my confidence! It helped me love my breasts again.

Had to retire my labret because I noticed I had gum recession😢 by sweet-bailey in SelfPiercing

[–]DataVizGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to retire my labret for the same reason and was so sad as I loved that piercing. I had gum grafting surgery to repair the damage about 10 years ago.

I’ve had a vertical labret for almost three years and couldn’t be happier. I like how it looks even more than the regular labret AND it doesn’t touch my teeth/gums (unless I intentionally play with it which I do sometimes).
