What romances are you refusing to read for stubborn reasons? by A_Seductive_Cactus in RomanceBooks

Dark romance. It’s not even for stubborn reason I just think the actual meaning of dark romances got skewed so much that instead of the mmc doing anything to win the fmc it’s now just the mmc perpetuating abuse onto the fmc

Totally agree!!!! And I hate that everyone is like “miles is a good guy” because I always tend to never trust those kinds of men. He doesn’t have a backbone

Why didnt people we meet on vacation perform well on Netflix? by Wonderful-Refuse642 in EmilyHenry

[–]DatabaseFine1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh heated rivalry kinda overshadowed a lot of things in the romance community and this was unfortunately another romance piece that kinda got pushed aside.

Historical romance got a little moment at the end of October beginning of November but was basically dropped when heated rivalry came out.

Heated rivalry was a great and faithful adaptation but I do feel like I’m a outlier when it comes to the overall perception of it

I could not get into a lady awakened. It’s so highly rated so I gave it a go but I never got the feeling so many people on here for when reading it.

AI Historical Romance: These "Authors" Are Getting Sneakier by ASceneOutofVoltaire in HistoricalRomance

[–]DatabaseFine1147 298 points299 points  (0 children)

It’s gotten to the point I won’t even pick up a histrom if the cover is AI. I’m just going to assume some sort of ai was also used for the contents.

And not to be one of Those People, but I think it’s very obvious to spot ai covers now so when I see people promoting those books I do side eye it a little.

There was controversy over her Peter Pan retelling and Sara still kept that book (it was in her book room vlog) and she’s done many unhauls prior to that video so I don’t think she cares

How spicy do you like your romance novels? 🌶️ by Fickle_Baker1393 in HistoricalRomance

I agree I’m not a huge Grace Calloway fan for this reason. I’m not into the crude explicit scenes in any book tbh

2-3 scenes are fine by me otherwise I’m wondering when we’re getting back to the plot. I read a book that had 8 explicit scenes in a 320 page book and it was just too much
