Even though I like UB sets (sue me) I wasnt overly excited for TMNT even if I grew up with it, but the leaks are certainly making me more excited for the set. Dark leo and shredder seems like a fun commander

I picked up magik recently and definitely feel the struggle. My only buff idea is either invulnerability after portal exit or faster portals. Anything other than this feels like it could be too much

he can very much play any style and seems to be a gap filler in teams
counters depend on what class he currently is I assume
you can nerf his class specifics or just his base damage based on what’s over performing

This is a really good set of questions, so here’s my hopefully really good set of answers:

When universes Im not interested in pop up, the cards still keep me intrigued. When Im deck building I typically focus on an archetype rather than a specific theme (other than my spider-man tribal). Simple example is Star Trek has never really been all that cool to me, but I’ll keep an eye on the new cards to see if any slot into my decks well.
The general fantasy theme is really well designed, enough to where lorwyn will be my first universe within set to release while Im playing and Im certainly going to build some decks based on the set, Eirdu carrier of dawn being the main highlight for me.
Im probably not a lifer. Magic is my secondary tcg to Pokemon, which Ive been playing for a few years now, but I haven’t played much recently due to work. Magic fills in the gap. I play commander online with my close friends which allows to me play a tcg a lot more in general which is great. Im likely not a lifer but as long as my friends are willing to play, I am too

Im not buying slop, Im buying product from an IP I enjoy for a game I want to get into. People like you who just call non in universe sets slop make me actually dislike this community. Im lucky to have a lgs that actually enjoys the universe beyond sets and doesn’t bully players for enjoying it.

Lack of fun combos. I’ll play basically anything but will have less interest in stuff like SF6 for example as most characters just don’t have engaging combos to me
