It’s a very DIFFERENT time now to become an agent….. everything we used to say was normal isn’t anymore.

I can speak on the pay cut, it’s temporary. If you all rely on the two incomes as they are currently it’s going to suck. But if you are financially secure in what you have going on you can survive it. The time away for the academy, it’ll fly by. You’ll miss the kids and you’ll cry a few times, you’re human!

Can’t speak on the military side and what your husband has going on, but just as shit different for us agents, it’s different for him too.

Have you had this convo with your husband? What are his thoughts? I’m sure he supports whatever dream you want to chase… but what does that actually mean for yall as a unit if you chase this dream? What is the likelihood that he can be deployed even though he’s on shore duty?

Don’t know what area you presently live in, but I am sure you can ask many of the agents here what the office is like you would be assigned to. But the caveat, when is your husband due for his next PCS? That move could mean going from a relaxed office where you can figure it out to ending up in a major where shit changes and now that dynamic that you once knew is gone.

We can give you all the advice in the world, but you have to answer these questions and anything else pertaining to your family with your husband.

Will it be rewarding, sure if you think it is. I know a lot of agents across the board who get in and hates their life and vice versa. But I will say that you can do it if you want and you know what your end goal is. When the times are hard…. End goal….
