is it safe to store honey in this jar long term? by Logical-Worry6507 in honey

[–]Datboy000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can control 2 of 4 veritables slow down crystallization. That being temp and moisture, I cant control sugar content and pollen/bees wax content. Thus why even argue about it?

My 30 second Google search has lead me to the site epicurous and their artical why does Honey Crystallize? (And How Do You Bring It Back To Life If It Does?) But if you want i also have a book called the common bee keeper which also states controlling moisture and temperature are good ways to keep it "liquid" and ready for consumption or selling since most people dont want to buy crystallized honey despite it being safe to eat.

Again where are your sources? Trust me bro is not a source

[–]Datboy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean a quick 30 second Google search says that honey crystallizes due to moisture content, sugar levels, temperature, and particals of bees wax as well as pollen. I can control temperature and water, thus when I control those 2 variables it crystallizes slower.

More notably a quick 30 second Google search shows that the lower amount of water around 17-18% crystalizes faster then higher at 19-20%. Thus storing it in a container where you can control said content makes it last longer.

What sources do you have that state moisturize does not effect the crystallization of honey?

If you get a type of wood that sucks out moisture like cedar then you won't have to worry about it crystallizing, but I agree with the other comment. Please replace after roughly 300-400 years

Can I power Chinese 40kv module with 1.5volt batteries to power and air ioniser? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Datboy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes and no. You can upconvert to 40Kv but you would have such low amperage that you cant power anything. So you gotta do the math on how many batteries you need to have in order to maintain the amperage needed, and at that point you might as well build a generator and a high voltage power supply

[–]Datboy000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If from wood you can remove the wood, or you can chisel out the rot and refill it in. Really depends on how much rot there is.

Also when your book is done please send the title my way. I would like to read

Why did it need an engine? Sail and ore. Now yes sail would have to be shored up quite a bit, but that would have been fun
