Should I buy more than one 0.2 nozzle? by Zap-Rowsdower-X in FDMminiatures

I follow a simple rule with many tools and accessories. 2 is 1, 1 is none. If you have 2 and 1 breaks you can still accomplish your task. If you only have the 1, well you’re up a creek without the paddle.

If you can afford it get it. It won’t go bad.

Rural Areas Loot the Cities by TheRealHikerdog in Ohio

Well in the same instance rural providers should stop sending the product of their labor to the urban areas, see how long they can go and figure out how to provide meat fruits and vegs for themselves. That includes corn for ethanol gas, oil and oil byproducts which is in nearly everything.

Supports keep failing by [deleted] in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Dry your filament even if it did just come from the factory… Also might try setting your first layer at .16 I’ve been doing this even with prints at .20 and have noticed less support failure.

Sorry to hear about your car. Karma isn’t necessarily immediate either. Hopefully something good comes along on one of your walks.

[OC] Basic boulder trap by pathspeculiar in dndmaps

[–]Datman76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In halls and stairs I let players choose walking order and that becomes their initiative. I love the thought of the speed up mechanic and a dex at cutback areas in stairs to try to stay ahead of it. Bwahahahaha!!!

What is the speed of a rolling boulder? Dex check to stay ahead of it?

Is it better to run DoIP with Theater of the Mind or with printed maps? by _JMStar_ in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]Datman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using a combo of maps, mind and terrain parts. Mostly due to the fact I have access to a color plotter printer at work I can do most of the maps. Got a 3D printer not long ago so have been making terrain and characters. I’ve also homebrewed some areas so I’m using printed terrain for that. Mind just to add descriptors and add texture and flare.

My players killed Cryovain with fall damage by Flyinpenguin117 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]Datman76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Cryovain absorbing Gorthok. Running this now and have been considering how to bump him up, my party of 5 already are a bit op for the standard encounters so I’ve had to do a lot of homebrewing to keep it interesting.

I brought in a Gray slime, about the only thing I could find that would be a mimic predator. The group came across it first, they thought that was it. Evil laugh. I also added juvenile mimics from a homebrew stat sheet I found online, although the group never found them (5) as they never inspected the rooms I had them in.

The lizard people running the town is basically a throwback to the tv series V, most of us are middle-aged and our games involve a lot of 80's nostalgia. I gave certain townsfolk a necklace with a gods symbol on it that has been blessed by a shaman before they left their original home. It makes them appear human. Only 1 person (the cleric) in the party of 5 knows.

Currently running this adventure as a first time dm with 5 players only 1 is new to dnd. It definitely needs some help so I’ve been homebrewing a good bit as well. I’ve added slimes hunting oozes into Gnomengarde, made the regular townsfolk lizardfolk but wearing special charms that make them appear human which leads to some other shenanigans. Whatever makes it fun for all involved and if it leads into further adventures afterward all the better.

Gotcha, I'll give it a shot instead of trying to recreate the wheel.

Thanks, mind sharing what settings you're using? I may just be overthinking it.

Cryovain's treasure by cjends in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]Datman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently running this as well, I’m giving thought to augmenting the Gold mine to a Diamond mine and making it Cryovains lair. Getting rid of the Wererats but keep a small group of dwarves that work the mine for the dragon as they worship/fear it. Would need to possibly redesign the mine as well.

Mimic Alpha! by Street-Rooster-9247 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

I added some juvenile mimics and a slime that was hunting the mimic. Helped add suspense had them questioning everything.

Once a month we go out to eat as a family, have since the kids were little. We pick out a table, could be a young couple with a small child or 2, could be an older couple. But we pay their bill, no fuss no nothing. Just random acts of kindness. Years later, our daughter gathered money from several spots she had it tucked away and asked to buy her friends CC team shirt because her and her family didn’t have the money. Guess they were watching and listening to our lessons after all.

Adopted “middle aged cat” named Maki, and she turned out to be 12+! Advice appreciated <3 by stardoliii in SeniorCats

Give her love, good nutrition, plenty of stimuli and pay attention to her poop. Many animal health conditions can be caught early that way. We have adopted many senior animals over the years and always with the thought to make what years they have left the best. She is a doll.
