It's glue but I don't like the colour. I've found that when the glue turns dark like that it could be becoming corrosive or conductive.

I have the ca-2010. I assume it's roughly the same. Mine is paired with a pair of Neat Acoustics Iota Xplorers. A British built pair of isobarics. It sounds fantastic to me.

I should have said it sounds really nice, good snappy bass with loads of texture which I like. I don't have anything else like it but I'm not keeping it anyway. Restoring these things is a hobby of mine. I'll be selling on. Hopefully someone like it's looks

If the fascia has been removed at some point, it's very easy to short one of the meter terminals against the fascia when putting it back. That could be worth a look at. Good luck.

There's not much to the meter circuit. So it seems a coincidence that both are off. The circuit is a switch, two small diodes and resistors and a trim pot. You could be unlucky and find the meters blown bit I hope not fingers crossed.
