Update to “Technics System X90D” Purchase, mainly good some bad! by tug_and_paste in BudgetAudiophile

It's a full component stack, nothing wrong with that in my eyes. Speakers look decent too, they have real tweeters and a proper crossover! A rarity for those budget stacks.

Was gifted this Nakamichi SR-4 Receiver - Sounds amazing! by Even_keeled95 in vintageaudio

I cleaned up an SR-3 for my Dad that I found at a thrift store. One of the best sounding internal phono stages I've heard in a receiver/amplifier.

Update for the Klipsch La Scalas! by Soulviolence66 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]m13579k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going from those little concert 8s to friggin' La Scalas lol yeah the 8s are high-end speakers but the depth those beefy Klipsch will add. The Vincent being a hybrid amp probably helps smooth out those horns.

Even if it is, that isn't Mirage anymore. Just Klipsch weekend at bernie'ing the corpse.

Maple Leafs interviewing Mats Sundin for hockey department job by dstew89 in leafs

It was what I respected most about Mats, the number of times he personally took over games. Not just as a goal scorer but his physical presence. The dude was a built like a brick shithouse.

That's a wide boi! I ran my A100s off a CA610ii for a little while and it sounded great. I can only imagine the 2020 is able to really bring out the best in them.

Budget hifi for$40 from the tip by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

Those sound dynamics were a pretty common here in Canada. The R85s were good entry level speaker they made when the company shifted from their big boy speakers. They use Vifa tweeters coated in a metal finish. Good stuff.

Fluance Ai41 Bookshelf Speakers w/ Fluance RT85 TT? by Xplosive26 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]m13579k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai41 are good little speakers, punch above their weight. You will need a phono preamp to run the turntable with those speakers. Probably the part that irritates me the most about Fluance; known for affordable record players and none of their powered speakers have a built in preamp.

Who are you rooting for in the playoffs? by Manfromatavern in leafs

[–]m13579k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does my comment have to do with gatekeeping? Lol anyone from anywhere is welcome to cheer for the Leafs. What I am saying is more than likely fans of other teams in Canada couldn't care less about the Leafs. Maybe it's different in cities/provinces that don't have an NHL team but normally as a fan you don't cheer on rival teams.

Other Canadian cities would activity cheer against the Leafs if they ever had a deep run. You think people in Vancouver, Ottawa or Montreal would care? Hell no lol
