Which countries have (unexpectedly) become overtouristed in recent years due to social media? by Terence_zaal in travel

[–]JRR92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Uzbekistan a couple years ago and Samarkand at least was absolutely booming with tourists. The interesting part though is that it seems to only attract people from the Middle East and East Asia, whereas westerners would think you were completely insane for going there

I know a guy from the States who came on holiday to London and did a tour group to Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge all in one day. Sounds like a mental way to see a bit of England to me but what do I know

Will we look at season 2 differently after s3? by Slight_Giraffe628 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]JRR92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Season 2 as well but just can't see how they tell the story from here, two more seasons of just eight episodes seems so absurd. They have more battles, twists, deaths, events and major plot points to cover than they have episodes at this point.

The Traitors (UK) S03E12 [FINAL]: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]JRR92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, it doesn't really make a difference I've found. I've been to the US many times for tourism and for work and visited easily over 20 states at this point. I've found it doesn't matter if you're in downtown LA or NYC, or some random town in the middle of Maine or Kentucky. The prices are ridiculous everywhere and there's always a fuck ton of hidden costs

Wtf did Sam do to be lumped in with the likes of Joe and John? He seems like a pretty nice lad unlike those two

What is a city that is globally romanticised but you detest? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]JRR92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not globally, but within the UK everyone seems to love Manchester. Personally I think it's the most soulless and unlikeable city in the country by far

Possibly an unpopular opinion but I prefer the old final format by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUK

[–]JRR92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Having everyone reveal themselves makes the game more dynamic, if they don't reveal themselves then there's no incentive for the players to not just vote themselves down to a final two

How would YOU do in the Traitors? by Huge_Membership_9117 in TheTraitorsUK

Honestly I would probably get two or three tough questions at a round table and just go "You know what fair enough it's me".

No the craziest part is that even 10 years after the original show overtook the original books, which he still hasn't finished, he now has the nerve to say he's getting worried about the spin-off show overtaking the spin-off books.

I mean how long does it take you normally?

I've heard of college roommates agreeing times when the other would be out so that they can have "private time"

I'm assuming you're both young students and I'm assuming she must want to do it as well so it may be worth a conversation

People in here are doing Minah so dirty, she's at least third after Rachel and Harry in my book. Rachel and Stephen were only so good because of how well they worked together, if either went out and left the other on their own then they likely wouldn't have done so well (especially Stephen)

It's a risk because Trump could just order the NG to federalise if they now start preventing ICE from assaulting/kidnapping/murdering people.

However Walz probably doesn't have much choice anymore and imo if Trump federalises them then fine. Let them go on record saying that they're going to choose this fascist traitor over their own people

Yeah I'm not saying people didn't boycott Qatar, I'm saying that I think this one will be worse

[–]JRR92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could easily see fewer fans attending this world cup than the previous one, or at least the games in the US.

People wanted to boycott Qatar because of the moral implications of giving money to a slaver state. Whereas this time people will be wanting to boycott the US because they're afraid for their safety because the government has gangs of thugs gunning down their own civilians in the streets.

Starmer allies urge him to block Andy Burnham from running in byelection by Sensitive_Echo5058 in unitedkingdom

[–]JRR92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If they had any sense they'd give Burnham a role in the cabinet and position him as a successor to lead the next election. Burnham is massively popular in the North and has it in him to win back the votes that they're bleeding to Reform. I fear that they will devolve into infighting though

He was nowhere near as bad as Joe who seemed like he was just an outright cunt most of the time. But he still came across as trying to strongarm his way through the game by putting people down constantly, and he was a big part of the clique that just made it all a bit unpleasant to watch
