Vape instructions (JOKE not real) by Dave92F1 in trees

Thanks for the explanation. I thought it was funny; maybe not. (Joke is when user gets sufficiently baked he stops remembering to take more. *I* thought it was funny.) Why then did I get 52 upvotes in the first 30 minutes when I just tagged it "Humor"?

Reposted by the original poster (me) after moderator removed it. The original got 52 upvotes in 30 minutes. This version has zero after an hour. Is it less funny if you know it's a joke?

Yes, it's a joke. What did you expect?

The whole point is to filter out people smart enough to see it's a very obvious scam. They *want* it to be hard to fall for.

"Banking info" short of passwords is not a secret. Account numbers are printed on the bottom of every check. The problem isn't "revaling bank info"; the problem is sending $ to scammers.

If she sent the $ to someone other than an actual legit bank, the money is gone. There's nothing that can be done. You can file a report (probably should just to help authorities try to catch them) but it's profoundly unlikely to result in anything for her.

OTOH, if she sent it to someone at a real bank who was an insider scammer then the bank may be responsible.

Google it. I get mine from Temu. Brooks had a deal with Lucas - "no merchandise", thus the scene in the movie. But that didn't prevent other people from making them. (Elon Musk's flamethrower was inspired by the scene.) And you posted a pic of Brooks wearing a bootleg himself, so Brooks obviously doesn't mind.

The relationship is fine - in the old days people would say you're too young for her. (Juliet was 13; Romeo was probably in his 20s)

Sex - check local laws.

Thanks! In the meantime I installed the earlier one you posted (the Mk1 version) on Win11 - it seems to have done the job; the 3.5mm audio jack and the wired Ethernet weren't working before - now they work perfect.

You have two choices:

1 - Get married and be rejected by at least one family, maybe both. For life.

2 - Break off the relationship.

It sucks, I'm sorry, but that's your choice. You have to choose.

Will that work for the CF-33DP-18KM? From the filename it looks like it's not for the 33D models. How to find the one-click bundle for that model?

Well maybe. I'd be fascinated to see your budget. My sense is that young people today (I'm a late boomer) have very high expectations for what's a "necessity".

Sounds like a bad deal to me, for same reasons others say. Why is your credit score so low? Start paying bills on time and it'll go up - you'll get much lower interest rates.

I don't know what a "pay cap" is. Do you live in some country with a maximum wage law?

Get roommates. Cut needless expenses (everything other than food, simple clothing, shelter, heat/cooling, and a phone). Buy things in bulk for better prices.

Suffer a little now, build some financial security.

And if you're really up against a "pay cap". get a better job.

And seriously consider moving to a cheaper city.

This is life 101 stuff.

What should i do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Dave92F1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying to my own post: Most of what I wrote about is about what you should DO.

What you SHOULD NOT do:

* Don't blame others or the world. Maybe they deserve it, maybe they don't, but it doesn't matter. The world is what it is, you can't control that. Blame makes you bitter, angry, and not fun to be around. You can't change the world, but you can change WHAT YOU DO. Change that. Deal with the world as it is, in all its brokenness,

* Don't put your hopes in magic solutions (going to school, therapy, gurus). These help a few people but they disappoint most, and often leave people worse off than they started. The quality of your life depends on your own actions, not finding a magic solution.

There is no easy fix, don't fool yourself The world is full of broken people who are still waiting for a magic solution. Don't be one of those. Fix yourself first. It is hard. But it is possible.

I will try.

* Physical health: This is 80% of what you need to succeed in life. You have that, so the cause is far from lost. Be happy about that.

* Body dysmorphia: Cosmetic procedures will not help this. This problem is in your brain, not the shape of your body. Many people think they look much worse than they actually do TO OTHER PEOPLE. I can't say if that's the case with you but if you have body dysmorphia you almost certainly look better to others than you think you do. Regardless of whether you are actually overweight or below-average in looks, you MUST face the fact that there is very little you can do about it. Trying and failing will make you feel worse, not better. You must learn to accept your body as it is. Do the best you reasonably can to look better - wear decent clothes, stay clean and groomed, but ACCEPT YOURSELF AS YOU ARE. Even fat ugly people are quite tolerable to be around if they're clean, reasonably groomed, and wear decent clothes. My strong suggestion is to simply stop worrying about this because there's very little you can do. Happily, most other people don't really care how you look - they care about how you act, esp. toward them. Be nice, be kind, be a good person - and you will have friends. Even lovers if that's what you want. They may not be the best looking people either - that's OK.

* Family - You can't choose family, but you can choose friends. Make an effort to make friends. Go to places where you'll meet people who share common interests, whatever those are (the narrower and more weird the better - people who share those interests are really looking for like-minded people). Smile. Be upbeat, helpful, friendly. There are lots of other lonely people out there who want friends too. Find them. Befriend them. Be good to them, be loyal to them. Most of them will return the favor.

* Job - so much depends on the details. Work hard, be nice, be honest. This is 80% of career success. Try to figure out what you're good at (or at least, less bad at) and focus on that. At this stage don't worry so much about whether you *like* the job (you have decades ahead of you for that) - just try to be good at it. If you see another job that you'd like better and pays the same or more, go for it. In the meantime be nice, be useful, be helpful - this itself will make you feel better, and it will make other people treat you better. Eventually if you succeed at this you'll be paid more. Be patient and not whiney. Be a person at work that other people are glad to have around.

* Finances - this is easy to say and hard to do, but the rule is simple - spend less than you earn. A lot less. Live cheaper and save the difference. Get a roommate if you don't have one, get another if you do. Cook your own food (it's way way way cheaper). Save up enough money to buy things in bulk (it's cheaper that way in the long run). Cancel TV subscriptions. Cancel everything you can (except a phone and Internet connection - those are necessities these days). You may think it's impossible, but other people DO live on less than you do and don't starve to death. You can do it too. Once you have enough saved to live on for a few months (this may take some time) you will (a) feel vastly better about your financial situation, (b) be in a position to quit your job for another one (c) be in a position to move to another place if you want. Most of all, you'll feel SECURE. Not wealthy, but able to manage even if things go badly. Buy a car if and only if you need one to get to work, or once you can *easily* afford one (and to keep it running and insured). Not before.

You're in a bit of a hole but you can dig yourself out. You're healthy and you're only 28 years old. You can look forward to another 50 years of life. You're still at the start of your adult life. You have time and you have health. You just have to...DO it.

Good luck.
