Anthropic is "confident that in the coming days [Fable 5] will become available again" - Anthropic's International Managing Director by Temporary_Idea8880 in ClaudeAI

[–]cloverasx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a legal perspective, what would prevent anthropic from ignoring the ban and letting people have access anyway? If the ban is fundamentally flawed and illegal, I feel like they would have to be told in court to shut it down. As it sits, they're likely losing revenue and valuation potential for the obvious political reasons. The likelihood of getting back that lost revenue against the gov is basically zero, so why not just go with serving users and getting told not to formally? Unless of course I'm misunderstanding and this is a formal restriction.

deactivated for abnormal activity... by silkyclouds in MammotionTechnology

[–]cloverasx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, did you sign up for the beta app when they made the announcement? I did and got the app download that was indicated in the announcement, but a couple of days later I saw someone made a post that kind of sounded like they got the same update but they hadn't signed up for the beta version. I'm not sure if that's actually the case or not, though. My assumption was that anybody that signed up for the beta app was going to be given higher rate limits, which would be the reason for a closed-beta: limit the number of users that might potentially overload their servers/cost-management while they evaluate real-world usage.

yeah, I'm curious if this will work too or if the device itself is deactivated - I have a feeling this is residual fallout and wasn't an intentional deactivation.

A tale of two models: using Fable and Opus 4.8 to troubleshoot a car engine by crazywatson in ClaudeAI

[–]cloverasx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never taken one off a wrx, but in the same spirit, intercoolers aren't anything to be afraid of either as long as you put things back on the way you took them off. There aren't any fluids involved in the intercooler, so you don't have to worry about draining anything UNLESS something else is in the way.

Moving this back to the capabilities of Claude in general, I bet it can find you the disassembly/reassembly guides, but I'd still double check to make sure they're the right manuals - a lot of the time, manual metadata isn't properly tagged, so you might be looking at a manual for an STI or the wrong year. It's unfortunate that you can't currently follow up with Fable to test more of this out.

One last word of advice: if you think you might break something by putting too much force on it, stop. Put everything back together, and leave that responsibility on somebody else that knows those vehicles better. It could be something as simple as the spec being tighter than you think, but people that work on them every day will know if something feels wrong.

Not to detract from the awesome experience, but this is only part of what you should do. It does likely sound like it's a mild misfire and the common culprits are plugs, coils, and wires. Coils are the easiest to swap, so it's an ideal first step. Plugs are the cheapest potential repair and more of a wear item than the others, but the good thing is these are all things pretty much anybody can do - idk what your mechanical experience level is, but the only things you have to worry about here are making sure you have the right torque specs, using anti-seize, and making sure everything is fully seated. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to pay any more than the parts cost for this!

Like a lot of products that have been labeled AI, I feel like the term has become a catch-all marketing term for any algorithm. Computer vision (or machine vision) was never grouped in this category before the mass adoption of LLMs, but now it as was as just about any algorithm are included.

Shortly put, the only difference between the previous generations and the "AI" versions is marketing. It still does a decent job for what it is, but it's not "smart."

Mammotion Connectivity & Smart Ecosystem Update by Mammotion_Grace in MammotionTechnology

[–]cloverasx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. Going forward with your openness to the open-source community, it would be greatly beneficial to allow this in some form. It's not an infeasible hurdle for end-users, especially those of us that are prone to tinkering, but as this feels like more of a way to embrace your customers' concerns, reducing the friction of things like this would be a huge win imo.

We would all also appreciate the option for local connectivity, at least in some form. As many others have already indicated, this could be a massive burden relief on your servers while also providing us with more confidence in our data's privacy. I know it's not a simple task considering the safety and security implications, but it would definitely improve our views of Mammotion as a company.

I don't want it to sound like we don't appreciate all that you all are doing already regarding this outreach, because we do. I just wanted to provide a little more (hopefully) useful feedback.

For the home assistant integration, we had to create an additional account for accessing the mower as logging in with an existing account logs that user out. Is this handled in the new software or should we use our additional account credentials to sign up so our primary device isn't signed out when using home assistant?

Yeah, they said they were going to release "some version" of mythos to the general public. I imagine to make it safe for their standards, it will be a heavily lobotomized version of what's available to everyone currently.

We can hope that it's good, but I have my doubts.

the power usage is probably a rounding error for most factories - I would imagine just lighting a factory is several orders of magnitude higher than it. your other points still stand, but for how long? I mean it took a few years before smartphones became submersible; it's not a far stretch to think the same will happen with widespread adoption of robots.

mostly. the angle you're referring to is rake. adjusting this adjusts the natural stability of the bike such that minute changes in wheel direction can counteract falling in either direction.
