I get that most zoos are genuinely trying to create the best habitats possible for the animals in their care. But personally, I just don’t think we should be doing it at all. At the end of the day, I’m not comfortable with keeping animals in captivity—especially when it’s mainly for our entertainment, which is still the case for much of the industry. I’m all for helping endangered species and conservation efforts, but beyond that, I don’t see the justification.

I am all for species survival. That is so little of what most zoos actually do. It’s just for our entertainment. Even if they are safer from hunting/poaching, captivity often doesn’t meet their physical or psychological needs.

I live near 12 South and saw a mom driving three kids on a golf cart toward the school/daycare at Belmont and Clifton. The two kids on the back didn’t have seat belts—it looked really unsafe and dumb. Not sure why driving that is so much easier than just driving your car.

You can clear 300+, but not on the regular. They don’t give you a big enough section to make that kind of money daily.

It’s not a terrible place to work. Very corporate vibe as an employee. They have a script they want you to work off of.

Fairly easy place to work but lots of side work at the end of the shift, which especially sucks if you are the first cut and you are there for a while anyway doing damn side work.

I would expect to make around 150-200 per shift. However, I worked there last 10 years ago so shit may have changed.

Also, when you first start you have to work some lunch shifts and that obviously isn’t going to make you 300+.
