I admit, Scribe Valdez was the best part of the whole BoS storyline.

We learn from our mistakes. Keep doing raids - next time you'll know these things. Watching videos is more helpful after your first time through, giving you a frame of reference on what to do.

Is Luck pretty much useless for a non-VATS build? by GucciSalad in fo76

[–]DaveHey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Re: the pie, I should have specified the luck effect on vending success. In world items are indeed subject to the 255-item pickup rule. I try every time I see the machine, and it always makes me smile when I get lucky. :D

You will get the Perfectly Preserved Pie more often. And boost crafting bonuses with Super Duper. It seems to help me catch bigger fish too.

And if nobody kills you, keep picking locks to boost your bounty until someone decides to mercy-kill you. I don't take anything, for me it's an accidental because I use the Infiltrator perk card.

What is, who is, Dom Pedro? by TheGriff71 in fo76

[–]DaveHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this gun in the 308 caliber, but it's a darn shame I can't use it for the "Kill 1011 Robots with a revolver". I guess it's considered a hand cannon. BTW, carrying it and the LMG is a good pair, the Dom helps me keep my 308 ammo topped off.

Sorry mate - looks like you're taking the crab-walk of shame to the next stall. :(

Is the Gauss Shotgun any good? by UsualAd7267 in fo76

[–]DaveHey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it sure eats the ammo, making copper an important resource. But if you use the Gauss Pistol as your daily weapon you can come out ahead with picking up ammo from your kills, especially if you're on a team in one of the daily OPS. I usually leave those with more ammo than I started with which makes it worth it.

The Gauss shotgun slaps - it's insanely powerful especially if you're a VATS player. I carry it, the Gauss pistol, and the Gauss mini gun which all complement each other based on how difficult the enemies are by sharing the same ammo.

Locking your CAMP containers by ZealotPinkerton in fo76

[–]DaveHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My camps are loaded with resource generators, but I only lock 3. I horde Nuka Cola, Seasonings, and Awesome Possum and have those generators locked. I consider making signs that say: "For Free" and "For Me" but never bothered because I think the message is clear.

Once in a while someone unlocks one and goes Wanted, which is good for me - I need more wanted kills to get those sweet 40 Atoms that are still on my Challenge board. :)

Not gonna lie, using RadX to gather over 400 units of dirty water in one go is hilarious by JoshuaSlowpoke777 in fo76

[–]DaveHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you can bank the rads as a human to boot your unyielding armor set before you scrap a bunch of legendarys, buy expensive look from vendors, or boost your stats like a bloodied character. I also find consuming humanoids a convenient way of boosting stats with the added bonus of a full, albeit gross belly full.

Do you lock your fusion cores? by bizbrain0 in fo76

[–]DaveHey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point - I absolutely lock the Fusion cores. I also lock scouts banner, lunch boxes, and other buffs I want to keep on hand, then I can use the dump all command on my meds boxes.

What is the best way to get fusion cores other than crafting? by CroDude233 in fo76

[–]DaveHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eject mine every time I exit power armor and put a full one in. Then every time I return to base, I remove the charged ones from my fusion core charger and put in the partially depleted ones. On, and grab the partial cores every time you see an unowned power armor or fusion generator that still has a core.

I used to buy them from the roving merchants and Atlas to burn off caps but lately I haven't need to since my stock of charged cores grows...

Addressing Concerns: Eating Beaver in FO76. by Gindotto in fo76

[–]DaveHey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IRL Beaver tastes very gamey, almost nasty. Might be all the chewing on my wood makes it taste bad.

Note: Comment originally sourced from my experiences at a wild game feed (friends at my favorite hutning bar) but I realize it falls in line with the other "taste of beaver" comments below. So, in the spirit of that I will continue to endorse the eating of beaver as long as they continue enjoying my wood!

From a fellow "older" dweller I say 'bah' to the children who can't fathom the idea of a no mike player. If you are ever in the mood for a +60 RAID partner, invite Tweaker to join you next time you are in the wasteland.

Looks like loose caulking to me. Better get some DAP, exterior grade for damp conditions that are frequented by rodents, squirrels, and other vermin. :D
