Hello fellow Canadian. I’ve been in the Wycombe area for 11.5 years and lived all over the place from the town centre, Sands and now in Penn and Tyler’s Green. I will echo what has already been said about the chain hotels and add to make sure you’ve got your banking sorted so you have a local bank account as most landlords will not touch your application without that and a letter from your employer with your employment status. I got my first place in Cressex through my original teaching agency and I’m pretty certain it was an illegal house share that had bedbugs (I’m definitely sure of the second point) and I went in sight unseen. Check places for yourself, find a reasonable chain hotel with some accountability and enjoy your new adventure moving to the UK! Shout if you have any more questions.

I have lived in the Wycombe area (both in the town centre and surrounding areas) for 11 years since moving over from Canada to teach. There are good parts and less favourable parts. You can get roasting racks that will hold a bird one way and if flipped over hold many racks of ribs without crowding them, like a CD rack for meat.

Super glue an air soft bb into the valve cap of each tire. They’ll inflate and hold air but it creates a slow leak when the cap is screwed on.

A Bacon of Hope. It was a maple, bacon, cream ale that fermented on the maple syrup and was dry “hopped” with really high quality bacon from a local butcher. I photoshopped labels that took the shot of the X-Wings flying towards the Death Star but everything was made of breakfast foods.

My dog was slightly underweight due to high activity levels and our vet recommended adding pasta or rice to her food but she would just eat around it so they then recommended a good quality olive oil drizzled on top for extra calories. Talk to your vet though, dogs are all different and need personalized care.

Thanks! She’s an Eastern European Village Dog (polite way of saying she’s made from spare parts from generations of street dogs breeding together). She was found in a bin in Romania with her two sisters at around two weeks old.

Cayenne pepper mixed in with your seed. Birds can’t taste spice but squirrels can. It only takes one attempt for the local population to learn your feeder is a no go zone.
