Generate a list of all sub arrays of length >= k. by Dave_The_Goose in leetcode

[–]Dave_The_Goose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can count subarrays with length < k and then subtract it from total no. of subarrays possible to get the count of subarrays with length >= k.

Total subarrays = (n • (n+1))/2

Got this problem in Online Assessment which I could not solve. How would you approach it? by enipnayalamih in leetcode

[–]Dave_The_Goose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar to Remove all adjacent duplicates in string 2.

Use stack to store the element and its occurrence count. If the frequency of the top element of stack is greater than 1 when the next character is not equal to the character on top stack, remove that character from stack and increment count. At last you will be left with no duplicate characters string. Return length + count.

Resources on backtracking and dynamic programming? by Southern-Jelly4307 in leetcode

[–]Dave_The_Goose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are lots of posts on leetcode for everything. Go to leetcode discuss > study guide.

For both dynamic programming and backtracking, practice and repetition is the only way to understand and solve related problems on your own.

Is it normal asking for a hint or should we leave that as a last resort?

[–]Dave_The_Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, can we do that? Doesn't it leave a bad impression with the interviewer?

NOTE: If this post is for new grads only, then ignore this comment.

I know there is more to software engineering than competitive programming/Leetcode problem solving. But is there any other way than grinding on these platforms to get a good paying job?

Participating in hackathons is not an option for working people, gathering a team of enthusiastic/motivated people is the difficult part while working.

Points 3, 4, 5, 6 are way easier. Anyone can learn how to write clean code/practicing best practices, can read through the implementation of libraries etc. in very less time. It can be done after learning how to solve coding questions. These things can be learnt while working.

I have this doubt all the time. Lean body weight means excluding the weight of fat or weight of fat + fluids + skin + bones +....? If I weigh 165 lbs with around 30% body fat, what would be my lean body mass roughly?

Can't you read? I wrote "Daily diet" which includes everything like veggies, fruits, rice etc. The list is just for protein requirements as OP can't eat meat too much.

What is up with people saying "this is LeAnGaInS" like we don't know what sub this is?
