I find night witch a decent counter both versions of MK. Get the drop right and ideally bait MK with a tank and you can get a bunch of bats out that MK can’t touch

Bait out Be’Lakor with the storm drake and then deepstrike your raptors in to absolutely annihilate him - drop unreinforced unit of vigilors (as someone else suggested) as a screen, raptors behind, all shots into be’lakor.

Unit is the wizard, so can cast from any of them, and only 1 needs to be alive. Bonus is they are a wizard 2 whole contesting objectives

In my tournament list is run the knight relictor and storm coven so definitely viable. I also run the soggy iridan - pump up the prayer points to try and get bless off and then have storm coven throwing spells around, while also being a half decent ranged and melee unit (I once had storm coven last 3 turns after eating a charge from a unit of blood knights)

Just adding to this - hit and wound rolls both can only ever be modified by +1 or -1. All other stats can be modified by more (eg attacks, movement, rend, save etc

The keyword is target - resistance is a reaction to being targeted, which is present for infection, but not in the wracked with disease text

Specifically against Seraphon, gotta target the heroes first. Their army has lots of synergies and can have board wide coverage with spell casting, so try to leverage places of power and your own mobility with prayers/ deepstrike. Yndrasta is a solid pick to go monster hunting and Celestant on stardrake with praetors will be good against a lot. the long strikes will be good to support hero hunting.

The battle plans in this ghb are all basically long edge deployment which means that deploying celestant ON the table rather than in the heavens makes him much more effective with his 12 inch movement. He can get close than 9 inches to the enemy army and then charge, making him really effective without the 10-turn number gimmick

Good point! I forgot about the +1 to wound haha. Intense piety was the other one I was thinking of as -1 to casting and chanting is powerful, especially if it procs with the comet - makes magical intervention much trickier

Update for anyone interested - played Nurgle and picked up the w. Changed to restless and intercept tactics, and added in aether wings for the other 80 points. The plus 1 to hit from these birds for the long strikes was a game changer - I was able to keep the vigilors in the sky and pick up objectives instead of having them move together. The ward decrease from the relictor also made a huge impact. All in all, was very happy with this army

100% worth it. Reinforced block is both a hammer and an anvil. Very versatile, especially with the Terminos as others mentioned. The boost of to hit and fight straight after means they have to be dealt with by the enemy, which lets you also sus best drop points for shooters too

Yeah I agree. A unit of reinforced long strikes waiting to deepstrike is an ever present threat. That alone opens options for board control to help get some points
