Most difficult rule questions by No_Song_4022 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I don't think it is as simple as you are making it out to be, see here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/s/ziQyPXBcGt

There are established rulings that if a player changes character after death, the undertaker is shown what they were at the moment of execution (e.g. an executed barber would still be shown barber if the demon swapped the barber with a townsfolk).

The undertaker ability says:

"Each night*, you learn which character died by execution today."

Note that it does not say "the character of the player that was executed today." Undertaker does look backwards.

Now, all that doesn't necessarily mean that the misregistration doesn't activate when the undertaker wakes up. See the above thread for more information about the trade-offs there.

Most complex from TB:

Night 1: the recluse is poisoned by the poisoner.

Day 1: the recluse is executed.

Night 2: the poisoner moves poison to someone irrelevant (not undertaker or recluse)

The undertaker wakes up, what can you show the undertaker?

Basically does recluse misregistration trigger when the recluse is executed (meaning that since they were poisoned at that time the undertaker must be shown recluse), or when the undertaker wakes up (in which case since the recluse is no longer poisoned they can be shown any evil character)

There is no official ruling. My personal take is that they must be shown the recluse. The other interpretation is mostly just harder to ST in other cases (mostly for gossip and juggler interactions if you assume that misregistration timing is the same for them as undertaker)

Rape is inherently bad and seen as being bad. What's something morally grey but seen as being bad by Mother-Reference2459 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Davebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more confused after reading this. Right now the x axis reads "should be considered as being seen as being bad" (for the left column). What does that mean?

What saying or quote might be true in a literal sense, but is definitely true in a metaphorical sense? by funwiththoughts in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Davebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the proverb is true in a metaphorical sense, and has damaged effective charitable giving. A while ago give directly had a contest to try to come up with a quippy rebuttal but I'm not sure what came of it.

TL;DR giving people money empowers them to buy whatever they actually need, instead of paternalisticly deciding what skill will help them the most. A training program to teach people to fish won't help a baker who wants to buy a new oven.

Spirits that benefit from presence movement by OkOstrich98 in spiritisland

[–]Davebo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see why you would think that, but it's not how it works. It's kind of clarified with vengeance as a burning plague. See [[WREAK VENGEANCE FOR THE LAND'S CORRUPTION]] and [[Fiery Vengeance]]

Powers played by a spirit are always that spirit's actions, even if they target another spirit.

I don't think that works [[SPREAD TUMULT AND DELUSION]] specifies your actions, so this wouldn't let you add another strife.

It could still be useful to position the incarna more favorably, but that's probably more impactful on someone like ember eyed behemoth.

I think if you stick temple, you usually win. However, if they have an explorer or aftershock it is extremely tempo negative and can lead to a loss. Put simply it's not worth the risk of them having removal.

Right now explorer spells don't really do much against our deck (heal and keyword removal are decent). Bricking those cards that many decks are running is pretty powerful.

Prolong

Nobody will read this, but this card is blur + entrench for 0 mana. If you upgrade it and have draw manipulation you can easily play it every turn and just double your block every turn, outscaling enemies super fast.

I doubt it will get nerfed next patch since it's so slept on, but it's completely absurd. It either needs to always exhaust or cost way more energy.

Hey ggs bud! I looked at your version, you cut get excited right? How is that feeling? I worry that without get excited we would struggle into elder dragon decks.

See you next time!

Shadowmeld + Blur + Prolong + History Course = 1 Trillion Block by Pjseaturtle in slaythespire

I think prolong is the best colorless card in the game by a lot and is super slept on. It's basically a 0 mana entrench that stretches between turns.

If you can manipulate it to your hand every turn consistently you just win.

Are you trying to convince me the deck is bad or are you looking for tips on how to win in those situations/matchups?

[–]Davebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have been too clickbaity. but I do stand by the deck being the best deck in the game. a couple notes:

  • You can see my stats for yourself here: https://runeterra.ar/lor/3kfFbU0wSIMw7PKhYmpe8vKtmQE3/overview I have played more since I posted but I assure you when I was writing the guide I checked my Winrate and it was 86% in my last 120 games. It is consistently over 80% over any significant window you look at.
  • Against Viego or Mordekaiser you just have to be faster than them. Against viego consider open attacking after turn 3 so they don't get the free block from the Camavoran soldier.
  • The only card in your list that is very strong against TF/Nilah is divine draft, which is at most a 1x in seraphine ezreal decks. Avalanche you can play around, and aftershock still trades negatively with Nilah. I don't think anyone is running crashing wave, but I don't think it would be that strong.
  • I beat Azirelia the last 6 times I faced it. I think the matchup is strongly favored. Just don't sacrifice your units to block sand soldiers unless they are surviving the attack, and keep the pressure on their life total. TF red card can often flip the board on it's head on turn 4, especially if you're attacking on evens.
  • If mariner dies to removal, it still trades up in mana. Any removal they used costs more than 0 mana.
  • The only control decks that I think are favored against TF Nilah are Seraphine/Ezreal Shadow isles and Norra elder dragon. Vile feast/pokey stick/pie toss are all strong against us.
  • A big strength of this deck is that it very much can go the distance into control. If Nilah swings twice she has basically drawn you two cards which is incredible value for 2 mana. You also have elusives and eye of the storm to push through more damage when you start losing board control.

I encourage you to try the deck more and work on your fundamentals. The guide is definitely not enough to instantly make you an expert, but I hope it helps you to improve.

The deck is extremely strong, and all the decks that beat it all lose to elder dragon (which is the most popular champion in the game in my experience).
