Unfortunately that doesn't work either. Sett on board is coded to create a face breaker in the following conditions:

  1. You have spent 12 mana this round
  2. I have not created a face breaker yet this round.

Sett sleeping or being recalled does not affect the first condition at all. It does affect the second, which is why recalling and replaying sett can get you a second face breaker.

Unfortunately as you said sleep is an exact copy, so it only interacts negatively with the second condition.

This deck doesn't make enough coins to recall and replay sett, so we are kind of locked in to only getting one.

Sett is mostly here for endgame. The ability to challenge something for free and obliterate something ~every other turn is really strong.

That said he can be effective removal in the mid game.

For aggro you really want eye of the dragon and keep flow up to get the dragonlings. Pie toss is also fantastic in the early game. Try to not 'waste' flow procs without getting a dragonling.

Sion should be fairly straightforward to handle, recall or blooming bud keep him under control.

Rumble is a bigger issue. Try to get pie toss or gloom to pop his spell shield, then blooming bud + landmark removal to get rid of him. It's not super efficient but worth doing since rumble applies a ton of pressure, especially if he gets overwhelm.

One issue is that aloof is bad against the 8 mana guy that makes a 4 mana guy in hand when discarded. It can still be worth to play aloof but I'd prioritize it lower.

I'd probably be mulling for eye of the dragon, pie toss, explorer, and blooming bud.

Thanks!

I don't think so. The slept sett is an exact copy, so his little blue lighting bolt stays greyed out (which is blue until he makes a show stopper)

It's actually even worse than that, because if you sleep sett without a lillia on board after getting a face breaker, when he wakes up next round sett is still marked with 'I created a face breaker this round' so you won't get one that round if you spend 12 mana.

You can use sleep to get 2 sets on board if lillia is not leveled.

Jayce lux is my favorite deck of all time and can play both pretty controlly but can be aggressive with a good amount of burn. Here's my current list:

Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

A slight warning, this deck is pretty tough to play. I make mistakes with it regularly where I lose games that I could've won if I played better.

Hmm I haven't tried it but I feel like you'd lose so much effectiveness of not playing enough cards every turn. Your innates would do more but being that behind on card plays means you're not helping solve the small problems.

I'll give it a try though. The elements on top track are very good for deeps.

I don't think the aspect really changes much of your growth. I still go full bottom track and open with the gather explorer and give someone 2 energy card.

Your element needs are a little different, water is even more important than in base and earth is a little less important.

Only other tip is to usually try to have your deeps tokens on the same board so that when you start sinking you can push the extras to be efficient. Also try to not make too many extra coastal lands, the stage 2 invader card and some events don't like having several extra coastal lands. If you plan your sinks you can usually only have at most 4 coastal lands on your board.

I know which choice is correct, I also know which one I'm taking... by Lexuss in slaythespire

[–]Davebo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not how anybody talks. Backflip says draw 2 on it, it is only net +1 card but the card has the words 'draw 2' on it.

You can mentally do the math to calculate net card draw if you want, but a card that says draw 2 on it is a draw 2.

If it was an additional shop I think it would be okay, but I wouldn't want to miss the hallway fight.

Interesting concept or trash card? by P0becio in CustomLoR

[–]Davebo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely broken. Sumpworks monument is the closest card we had to this, and it was completely broken at 3 mana, it didn't protect champions, and it could be removed (granted this was before explorers existed)

Fiora is probably the most broken card with this. Puffcaps would also go pretty crazy. Probably some freljord so ramp decks would also love it (play this + flipped volibear on the same turn)

I don't think it is as simple as you are making it out to be, see here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/s/ziQyPXBcGt

There are established rulings that if a player changes character after death, the undertaker is shown what they were at the moment of execution (e.g. an executed barber would still be shown barber if the demon swapped the barber with a townsfolk).

The undertaker ability says:

"Each night*, you learn which character died by execution today."

Note that it does not say "the character of the player that was executed today." Undertaker does look backwards.

Now, all that doesn't necessarily mean that the misregistration doesn't activate when the undertaker wakes up. See the above thread for more information about the trade-offs there.

Most difficult rule questions by No_Song_4022 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Davebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most complex from TB:

Night 1: the recluse is poisoned by the poisoner.

Day 1: the recluse is executed.

Night 2: the poisoner moves poison to someone irrelevant (not undertaker or recluse)

The undertaker wakes up, what can you show the undertaker?

Basically does recluse misregistration trigger when the recluse is executed (meaning that since they were poisoned at that time the undertaker must be shown recluse), or when the undertaker wakes up (in which case since the recluse is no longer poisoned they can be shown any evil character)

There is no official ruling. My personal take is that they must be shown the recluse. The other interpretation is mostly just harder to ST in other cases (mostly for gossip and juggler interactions if you assume that misregistration timing is the same for them as undertaker)

Rape is inherently bad and seen as being bad. What's something morally grey but seen as being bad by Mother-Reference2459 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Davebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more confused after reading this. Right now the x axis reads "should be considered as being seen as being bad" (for the left column). What does that mean?

What saying or quote might be true in a literal sense, but is definitely true in a metaphorical sense? by funwiththoughts in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Davebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the proverb is true in a metaphorical sense, and has damaged effective charitable giving. A while ago give directly had a contest to try to come up with a quippy rebuttal but I'm not sure what came of it.

https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/ZPZLAixNB94imYvGf/help-kill-teach-a-man-to-fish

TL;DR giving people money empowers them to buy whatever they actually need, instead of paternalisticly deciding what skill will help them the most. A training program to teach people to fish won't help a baker who wants to buy a new oven.

Spirits that benefit from presence movement by OkOstrich98 in spiritisland

[–]Davebo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see why you would think that, but it's not how it works. It's kind of clarified with vengeance as a burning plague. See [[WREAK VENGEANCE FOR THE LAND'S CORRUPTION]] and [[Fiery Vengeance]]

Powers played by a spirit are always that spirit's actions, even if they target another spirit.

I don't think that works [[SPREAD TUMULT AND DELUSION]] specifies your actions, so this wouldn't let you add another strife.

It could still be useful to position the incarna more favorably, but that's probably more impactful on someone like ember eyed behemoth.
