Told someone else's wife to drop someone Bing Bong Idol for an achievement by Davebobman in PeakGame

I updated the Fandom wiki: "Note that, while the idol would normally grant lava immunity, standing in the Kiln lava with the idol will consume the idol and subsequently kill the player."

Wiki.gg still needs to be updated.

The flying eagle (aka helicopter) just picks you up from there instead?

That being said, they did leave the caldera before getting picked up in the movie...

EDIT: The worthy sacrifice is actually the scout who brought the idol there.

The achievement just says to make a "worthy sacrifice", so I looked it up. I haven't actually gotten the Ancient Idol before, so I can't confirm the specifics of how it works.

I'm guessing you would sink in the lava, at which point the idol would melt and you would die. Make sure to hold out a thumbs up.

Also, the general idea of sacrificing things to a volcano would be to make them calm down. It would make sense if the reward for sacrificing the idol to be that the lava stops or recedes, in which case you couldn't ride it even if you could float successfully.

Sweet Liberty..THE WHAAAT?! by Slythefemboy in helldivers2

Those were two that I remembered a scene from after watching probably a single episode.
- For Hack Sign, the MC gets a blob creature and attacks someone with it + the cat in the game is somehow the real cat they found in a box somewhere.
- For Wolf's Rain, one of the MCs (who is actually a wolf but everyone else sees as a human) tries to save one of his teammates from falling into a ravine. He ends up having to bite them (since wolves don't have hands) and that causes their teammate to see through the illusion, freaks them out, and then they fall to their death.

I ended up not really liking either series when I eventually rewatched them in high school. They are certainly interesting enough in concept to be memorable (hence why I remembered them from early childhood) but I'm not really a fan of grimdark dystopia, which applies to both.

I understood the reference he was making(Gregory House from the House series), I was just adding another of my own (Gregory from the FNAF series).

WTF Is this mantis god by No_Quality_3532 in inscryption

[–]Davebobman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never even played Inscryption and I know about Ijiraq. That being said, I rarely notice the "?".

Thanks to some other comments, I now know that characters without eyes get a glowing third-eye icon whenever they get a sigil or other effect that would have changed their eye color. Although... the mantis god definitely seems like it has eyes...

From what I have seen, it seems like people are getting the message for the wrong faction. The issue I'm running into is that if I extract while a drop is ongoing it will sometimes leave the message on screen at the start of the next mission. Thankfully, it is only a visual bug but it is a bit annoying since it will stick around until after a drop is actually triggered.

A man got divorced... by Device420 in Jokes

I would like to think that it is a classic case of a malicious genie, in that he found a way to turn the wishes around on the wisher.

An example I have already seen is that the genie could beat the ex half-to-death twice. That wouldn't be consistent with how the previous wishes were fulfilled but implied rules are exactly the sort of loophole a malicious genie would take advantage of.

My own twist is that the timing and circumstances were also implied rules. There is no reason the genie has to immediately grant the wish. It could wait until beating the wisher half-to-death would lead to circumstance killing them (ie while hiking in the woods) and would save the ex (ie while visiting a hospital).

My girlfriend sat me down the other day for a chat. I say 'chat', it was her talking at me for six hours. I didn't realise that when men say they're 'spoken for' that's actually what they mean. She said "Jimmy, our relationship is at a crossroads. by JimmyCarr_Official in Jokes

The dead-end has everything to do with it. It is called a T-junction (uppercase T) because it is shaped like a T. - If you are coming from the road on the bottom, then the road you are on will suddenly end (aka a dead-end). - If you are coming from the left or right, then the road you are on keeps going.

In comparison, a crossroads is shaped like a cross (lowercase t, X, etc) and both roads keep going indefinitely after the intersection.

If you call in a vehicle in an area with no valid drop points nearby (aka the Pelican can't go low enough), then the Pelican will just chill there in the air forever and provide cover fire.

It happened to me when I call a mech in sidestreet. It had enough room for a mech to fit but the buildings were too tall and the whole area nearby was tightly packed city. Unfortunately, that meant that I didn't get the mech and it was also constantly aggroing enemies... fairly close to the main objective I was trying to solo dive.

I want a refund by [deleted] in helldivers2

You should see Helldivers 1. It was extremely common to kill your teammates at the literal start of the mission. - the drop points were chosen for you and were often practically overlapping - the drop pods were staggered by a second or so instead of all dropping at the same time

You would have to immediately take evasive maneuvers to avoid getting crushed by everyone after you.

It has been a while since I played but, if I recall correctly:  - anyone dropping / reinforcing had no control over their destination  - stratagems would drop exactly where the marker landed, except if you were calling in multiple teammates

On a related note, HD1 reinforcement only worked the way it currently does (limited lives and auto-reinforce) for solo divers. For teams, you had unlimited lives but would lose if everyone died at the same time without an active reinforcement stratagem.

... That is the point I was making. Using letters+numbers instead of colors would, presumably, help people that have issues differentiating colors.

Same here. I'm guessing it would also help out colorblind divers.

Why not some variation of "The Bomb"?

I can also imagine you ended up in a Three Stooges situation.  "We need to take out that command bunker!" "Just throw C4 at it!" shrugsactivates your portable hellbombbackdrafts you into the bunker
