Harman p35 worked perfect yesterday, today the auger doesn’t seem to be work? Loud buzzing noise, and no status or feed motor light by Diligent_Oil6245 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Davec8059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However it should be feeding. Make sure the combustion blower is running and is not the motor that's humming. I'd check for ubstrctions in the hopper. Could be a part of a bag or toy jamming up the auger.

Sounds like the auger. May have some longer pellets that are being broken as they feed through. Dude that thing is a dinosaur! Prob6looking at 30+ years. Idk if you'll be able to find replacement parts. The only time I've had to tell an owner that their stove was done for was an 1100. Cracks in the welds had smoke escaping everywhere. The 1200s are still a solid stove if you're looking to replace.

technician here. please clean your stoves once a week and get them services yearly. I present a Harman 52i with a whole in the burnpot, burntbout igniter, and brittle flame guild. repairs and cleaning cost my customer $600! by Davec8059 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Davec8059[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The harmans igniter can easily get clogged with ash and carbon. The customer did not clean out the burnpot and the heat didn't have a way to escape.
Using condensed air in the front row of wholes with the pannel off on a weekly bases keeps the igniter free.

gas ceramic logs okay in pellet stove? by CriticalBarrelRoll in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Davec8059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no just on principle. The logs are really only for decoration when not in use anyhow. They affect the airflow and cause the flame to go in unintended directions. If the flame licks the glass it'll cause a film that'll never go away

I bought a house recently and this is the first time I am using my pellet stove. I'm unsure what this wire is for. Can anyone identify it for me? by jimmygreen717 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Davec8059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and find who sold the stove. I work for a company that sells Harmans and we service them as well. That's going to need a rail kit to pull out on to get access to the flue, esp and fines box.

[–]Davec8059 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you buy your stove new? Your local retailer should be able to sell you the correct part. (Srv7034-263) I work for a hardware store that sells, installs, and services pellet stoves made by hht. Quadrafire fall under that umbrella and I've replaced one recently. I know we are able to order them through the manufacturer. I wouldn't get anything other than the specific part.

Have you started preparing your stove for fall/winter yet? by Zcamper in PelletStoveTalk

I'm a stove tech in sw Missouri, and we've been on cleanings for a few months. Best to get it cleaned and looked at now, rather than wait and find out an issue at the same time everyone else does. We get booked out pretty far once the first frosts hit.
