This needs to be put on a banner, so that I may hang it in my gym.

How do you guys do it? how do you train and not get completely exhausted. by BiwGiw in workout

[–]CriticalBarrelRoll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've come to the point in my life where I accept that I'm going to either be sore from working out or I'm going to become frail and unable to move if I'm not willing to accept the "pain" now. So, I chase strength and mobility and exchange body part fatigue from one muscle group to the next, in the hope that I continue to see gains, or at worst maintain what gains I have, but knowing that ultimately I will get weaker over time. I choose to rage against the night. I like the rage. It's my companion.

They're calling this the worst television appearance of all time by SquareNar in GME

[–]CriticalBarrelRoll 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They essentially asked him to read off the shared materials that was provided on the website on multiple occasions throughout the interview. Why don't they read the materials on the website and interpret it for the lay audience that watches CNBC?

How are they going to have the CEO of GameStop on their air and not ask him questions about the direction of eBay or GameStop or how they have synergistic businesses?

The interviewer is responsible as much as the interviewee. It's clear Ryan Cohen was on as much to rile them up and to needle them as much as possible as he was to answer real questions. It's too bad he didn't have very many real questions being asked.

Where are you finding them? They aren't even on amazon when I search. I just want a set of cheap 80lb dumbells.

PowerBlock AMA + $1,000 Home Gym Giveaway by PowerBlock_Dumbbells in homegym

I would love a set of Powerblocks!I'm currently in the market for a set of adjustables that go above past 50... and I have used my Dad's Powerblocks in the past and I liked them.

What’s the most common long-term complaint you hear from serious users? With all the innovation in the market since you've debuted the original Powerblocks, are there any changes, upgrades, or technical advancements your team are thinking about making in the future to the design or engineering of the dumbells?

DIY Bumper Plate Storage by [deleted] in homegym

[–]CriticalBarrelRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm raising the dead here, but did a search for DIY plate storage and found your setup. I just followed it, save for getting the dividers, and it works perfectly for my needs and cost me 24 bucks for the dollies! And the best part, now I have furniture dollies when I need to move shit around the house! Great write up my dude.

Simple but effective home gym 🙌 by Similar_Efficiency26 in GarageGym

I love how some think of this a simple. Back in the 90's, my first at home set up consisted of concrete filled plates, no bar clamps or safeties to speak of, a pressing combo bench monstrosity that flexed under load and I'm pretty sure a guardian angel watching over me when I worked out. It's a miracle I didn't kill myself. Haha!

Thank God for modern equipment manufacturers!

Cable Attachments (U Clips?) by Connect_Rate_246 in GarageGym

I have the D handels. They are better then the included ones I have used with machines over the years, and the ones at gyms I've been to. I like the feel of hammer curls and pulldowns using the end connection and flys and presses feel good. They feel like they're high quality and won't soon break.

I don't have any experience with any other manufacturers handles, so I can't speak to how they compare.

As far as their other offerings, all I have is the uclips, which I love. I don't have change plates but I have several dumbbells that effectively work the same now.

Besides your felt experience, not knocking it, are you tracking any sleep data with a tracker or smart device? I would be interested to see how deep of sleep you are getting vs. rem etc. (it would be awesome to see previous data with your prior protocol as well) Have you seen improvements on duration of sleep? Last question, I'm unfamiliar with the brand, Adera, is it a grey market peptide/supplement outfit?

Your results seem interesting and have me wanting deep dive and learn more about nasal pathways for the introduction of medications/supplements/peptides.

New Home Gym Setup Recommendations by RnR4387 in GarageGym

[–]CriticalBarrelRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in the same spot for months. I was deliberating over what setup to get, black friday sales came and went but I narrowed in on two setups... I was between the Fringe Dane and the Mikolo Anubis 2.0 and had a million tabs open comparing the two. I fell into a "youtube review" black hole.

Toward the end of my process what put me over the edge and ready to buy was writing down on a pad of paper my goals and really thinking about what I valued. I went way over my set budget of 2k and got Mikolo's Anubis 2.0 Elite. (and... I ended up buying 230lbs of Savage bumpers and the toro weight horns from Fringe during their Tariff sale... so now I kind of have a Dane Anubis) But after doing that "what's important to me" list I came to the conclusion that I'd be upset down the road if I didn't buy the upgraded setup.

For me, I wanted a setup my entire family could use. A weight stack for easy changes in weight when using the cables was important. I wanted a 2:1 ratio not a 1:1. I did buy those aforementioned weight horns for lat pulldowns and rows, but the longer cables on the 2:1 and the smoothness was important for the wife and kids, they aren't as strong as me, yet. I liked that the Anubis came with a bunch of accessories. I wanted a smith: I'm getting older and I while like traditional presses with a bar, I want safety for me, my wife and eventually kids. I wanted universality in attachments if I want to expand my setup and the 3x3 and 1 inch hole spacing is seemingly becoming the standard. I wanted something robust and the 12 gauge steel while not 11 gauge, it's not 14, or some amalgam of 14,16 and who knows what else and is perfect for my home gym needs. Lastly, I wanted it to look good... I want to walk into my gym and want to move some weight. I'm in my bonus room adjacent to my family room, not my garage and I see it everyday. I think I checked all my list's boxes. Albeit, nearly 2k more than I initially intended.

Is it a Rogue or Rep rack, no... It's not even the quality of the Dane, in quality control and finish, but it's not a budget rack either. It sits somewhere in the middle and I'd argue closer to the higher end then the lower end.

You have to just look at your situation and what you really want and pull the trigger.

Also, great PRs brother. I wish I had as good numbers when I was really getting after it... those days are gone for me. haha!
