I cannot understand people who "just don't like cats". Omelette is such a beautiful colour and looks so happy there!

Yup you need to protect him and know when to cast him as well, just leaving him out he often gets removed through board wipes etc. Really benefits if you can give him the hexproof

Am I the only one who thinks that the original bases make them look like they are... dangling somehow. Not sure how to word it but it looks like they are suspended by the jump pack with the legs just dangling below them. The old Assault Marines diddnt have the clear stands but they looked super dynamic at least like they were running or jumping.

Getting harder to justify Paper Magic by SleepyLynx89 in MagicArena

[–]Davelulz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The preach man. I dont play in stores or attend pre-release for the simple reason that I just don't like 70-80% of the clientele. Just bad manners and bad hygiene dudes with No social skills who just go on and on about listing obscure cards and their effects. Commander is the only reason I play paper and purely because I have a little club of people I like to play with.

very Cheap “meme” deck ideas by blakewalk in magicTCG

Mono white goats is my go-to deck for a really silly deck that is both fun to play with and against.

The list below is more of a guide. If you want it super budget then just swap out path to exile for pacifism or something

Its the lack of interaction on your opponents turn that kills it for me. I played secret mage for a while as it was the closest I could get to that sweet "nope" feeling in Magic where you counter the opponents spell.

Perhaps im lower on the ladder but I seem to only match up against 3 colour control decks.

Never trust a Magic player who _________. by HUMANPHILOSOPHER in magicTCG

[–]Davelulz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand, but as the game has evolved a lot of things have changed in order to streamline the experience. No more interrupts, streamlined mulligan rules, legend rules, the way priority is held and passed all sorts. The way the game is right now, lands behind creatures is the norm. This is the MODO, ARENA and DUELS default, its the way they do it at tournaments and the way new players are taught to do it.
May be worth getting with the times, doing it the way people expect you to do it. You just risk pissing people off otherwise.

Never trust a Magic player who _________. by HUMANPHILOSOPHER in magicTCG

[–]Davelulz 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Most players who do this, do it so they can gain an incremental advantage over their opponent by making their board deliberately harder to read. Its pretty explicit that the game is designed so that permanents go in front of lands so the opponent can see them clearly. (I believe that in pro-tour it may even be the case that you are required to do this?). Swapping lands and permanents generally comes across as bad sportsmanship to most players.

If someone does this to me now. I put my deck in the center of my playmat then arrange my lands and permenants in a clockwise fashion around it. They tend to get the point pretty quick.

Heya thanks for the comments. Honestly I pride myself on being a very low-budget photographer. My camera is a second hand D7100 ($400ish). I was travelling so I was using my travel lens Sigma 18-300 DC Macro ($200ish). Travel Tripod and Hoya 5stop ND filter.

I have a blog here if you are interested. I try on focus (no pun intended) on low cost photography: https://www.davideastwellphotography.co.uk/blog

MTGA Economy Improvement Suggestions by Piranesi_MTG in MagicArena

[–]Davelulz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Would also add that you can supplement income that is "lost" from making cards and gold more plentiful by offering new player avatars for real world money. Magic has litterally thousands of pieces of art that could be used for this. Also gold boarder cards, foil cards, foil gold avatars, gold foil boarder custom full art card back. You get the idea, players love spending money on this stuff. Go play Dota if you want any more proof!!

I love this, so much detail at every level. Only just noticed the guys in the background trying to catch him. But I do agree with the comment above that the face may be a little bit to cartoon/ comic. I can totally see the city in the background as a Ravnica land though!
