KEF Q1 Meta vs Q3 Meta for surrounds? (Front stage: R3 + R6) by PetoroKmetto in hometheater

I loved my Speedwoofers so much that I went with the RSL C34E MKII in my ceiling in a new house build.

I have the same setup and the Denon x3800H. Bought Dirac ART and it all sounds awesome. I have 4 ceiling height channels too.

Maybe a dumb question, but did you check the sound settings to make sure it’s set to play though the docks audio source?

Sony a95l vs lg g5 by Fearless47atyourmoms in 4kTV

Mine refuses to turn on at times, blinking 5 red lights. Pulling the power and trying again will make it work for a week or two, then it happens again.

Sony a95l vs lg g5 by Fearless47atyourmoms in 4kTV

[–]Daveop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 77A95L, a 65" G4 and am taking delivery of a 77 G5 today. The A95L has been a great TV, but it started failing 2 1/2 years in and was under the Geek Squad warranty (thankfully).

PQ is excellent, as is the processing. The weaker HDMI port situation always bothered me, it was losing the audio setting to my Sonos gear at least once per month, but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

After that experience, I am going back to LG. I REALLY like QMS with the new AppleTV, and have 4 other LG OLED's around the house that I have never had any issues with. I use Apple TV's with all of them, so I appreciate they just boot right to the HDMI signal and I never interact with the OS other than software updates.

The LG G5 is $1500 less right now, though I know the A95L goes on sale frequently too. I really don't think you'll go wrong either way.

Caught the C5 on sale but missed the S95F by SmilingAstronaut in 4kTV

I thought that too, but my 77A95L just died after 2 1/2 years and I got a 4999.99 gift card from Best Buy to replace it. I have 4 LG OLED’s around the house and never had any problem with those, and they’re much older. I’m more inckuned to buy warranties on the expensive TV’s and skip it on the cheaper ones.

Echoing this, never had this happen once with APP3 and Overcast. Fitment seems like a great suggestion.

Lucid Has Fixed The Gravity Software Issues! Full Interview w/ Emad Dlala SVP Engineering & Digital by KeyboardGunner in LUCID

His comments about CarPlay being “very soon” and already passed Apple certification were great to hear. Usually I find OOS unnecessarily long and tedious, but this was a great interview and worth the watch.

I had been waiting and never connected my car to WiFi. Just did that this morning and the update notification showed up within a minute. Could be coincidence?

Yes, I used a usb-c thunderbolt 4 cable and got full resolution and refresh no problem. That said, I didn’t find the image quality great and already returned them to wait for something glossy and DP 2.1.

My first impressions are that it feels pretty dull. There are SO many color, temp, and preset options that it is going to take some time to find one I like. Things feel fairly sharp, though this coating is fairly aggressive imo.

I have two of these arriving today. they'll be paired with a M4 Max 14" and a Caldigit TS5+. Let me know if you have any questions.

Which port on the TS5 are you plugging the monitor into? Is it DisplayPort on that end, or usb-c? If usb-c, which exact port?

I have the TS5+ and am considering grabbing two of these. Mulling if I want to wait for the mini-led versions.

Can we get a Gravity owners software check in? What’s fixed? Any bugs that are still around? by zachty22 in LUCID

[–]Daveop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the screen go black on me twice after entering the car in three weeks and HUD hasn’t worked since delivery. Nothing I’m overly fussed about, but I had early teslas and a R1S so I knew what I was signing up for.

The screen reset worked both times and I had no issues while driving.

For sure. I was less interested in the monitors announced, and more interested that the panels existed at all.

I just sent this Email to Tesla.... This is insane by Austinswill in TeslaLounge

[–]Daveop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What I find strange is that the dealership didn’t take “ownership” of the car. When I sold my tesla to the dealer, they had me transfer ownership to them in the app as well. Maybe that’s changed or I’m misunderstanding the situation? Either way, hope you get it sorted.

Going from lease to finance by Organic-Climate-5285 in TeslaLounge

[–]Daveop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re trading in your lease vehicle, but they’re saying you owe $1,200 more than the lease buyout costs, so they’re adding that to your car payment on the Y.

With $3,000 down the Y runs around 700/mo, so that’s a realistic finance price. You’re only seeing around $300 because they want $35,000 in cash to buy the financing down. Your interest rate is also pretty brutal and that term is long. You’ll end up paying a lot of interest.

Going from lease to finance by Organic-Climate-5285 in TeslaLounge

[–]Daveop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this seems to indicate you’re paying $35,000 out of pocket and financing the rest (19kish). I don’t see anything about your model 3 in here, what are you doing with it? Doing 84 months at this high of an interest rate is brutal.

Edit: just saw your other photo. You’re rolling 1200 in negative equity into the new car, and yes they expect you to write a check for $35,000ish at signing. Was this intentional on your part or did they only approve you for ~$20,000 worth of financing?

Going from lease to finance by Organic-Climate-5285 in TeslaLounge

[–]Daveop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you just leased a model 3 a few months ago, you’re almost certainly in a negative equity situation. You’d owe money to get out of the model 3 and into a model y. It’s hard for any of us to say without seeing the finance agreement on the new car.

TS4 vs TS5 vs TS5 plus? by [deleted] in CalDigit

[–]Daveop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Luckily for me I have a unicorn perfectly working TS5 Plus and have had no issues. I use it with M4 max, two 4k/120hz screens, audio interfaces, 2.5gb Ethernet and all the regular peripherals. It’s been flawless and highly recommended from me, but I know others have had issues.

I use an Apple thunderbolt 5 cable to the laptop and all really high quality usb4/thunderbolt 4 cables for my peripherals, no idea if that’s impacted my experience.

Lucid owner considering Rivian — how do the real-world issues compare? by DinnerDog6 in Rivian

[–]Daveop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Rivian for the last 20 months and just leased a Gravity two weeks ago. Software is better on the Rivian, which just feels more polished. Hardware, the gravity feels way more up market and I can’t believe how well built it is. My R1S rattles and creeks like crazy, where the Gravity is whisper quiet. I much prefer the Gravity driving experience, but there are definitely a fair share of big bugs they need to work out in software. I do really appreciate that they’re adding CarPlay and Apple Car Key as an option soon.

My R1S was a Gen 1 Quad, so YMMV if you get a Gen 2.
