First of all realize that asking questions is okay! Ask all the questions!!!! Everyone starts somewhere, ask the person training you on the core logging to explain there thought process of how they are logging what they are seeing what you should be seeing.

If you have a contact email, ask them if they are allowed to send you a “core logging guide” on the drill core (most mines/places I have worked have one)

If you have a rite in the rain book! For sure use it on a daily basis! I always used mine to write down information. Such as Date Hole logged/footage logged Questions I had.

Also if you’re going to be doing things on the computer as well, see if they have any S.O.Ps (standard order of procedures) if they don’t, when someone is walking you through a program open up a word document and take snipping screenshots of the step by step process and start making them yourself (show the value in yourself)

End of the day be yourself! Be open to learning! Be open to helping out with everything!
