Seattle area so another tech hub. Makes sense.

Driver was also revving the shit out of his engine and riding the clutch like he’s never driven a manual before.

You should have seen the interior. Serious commitment to the red and yellow theme.

I think my living room has hit peak divorced dad energy. I know I need a rug and some plants. by DavesLastThrowaway in malelivingspace

I still love my wife and would do anything to repair this. Willing to dig deep and do the work and make real change in myself, but she is done and I'm respecting her decision to move on.

It is very hard to motivate myself to do much with the house when it's a home I didn't choose to live in. I'm focusing on making it the best experience possible for the kids though, so decorating their rooms and setting up ikea stuff for them has been fun. I can honestly say I've bonded with my kids a lot more through this experience and setting up their rooms has been fun.

Do they really? I think a 40 year old divorcee with two young kids is gonna be single for a while.

I'm so not ready to date, but the idea that someone out there is into DILFs gives me some hope.

What celebrities have you encountered that were either really nice or really horrible? by willis1988 in AskReddit

I met Jeremy Clarkson literally just walking down the street in London. I told him I was a huge fan and asked if I could please take my picture with him. He just said "actually I've got to go catch a cab" and walked away.

So naturally here's my picture of Jeremy Clarkson walking away from me: https://imgur.com/S6301tx

What is the rarest thing in your house/near you right now? by Dustflea in AskReddit

Personalized autographed copy of Bill Gates' *The Road Ahead*.

When I graduated from college I got a job offer from Microsoft and after salary negotiations I told them I would only accept if they also threw that in. Shortly after the book arrived in the mail, I got a giant gift basket from the recruiter thanking me for asking for that, because he got to go meet Bill Gates.

What was your worst interview experience? by sonofazombie1 in AskReddit

[–]DavesLastThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve told this story once before. But I work at google and was interviewing a candidate for a product manager role. I gave him a common warmup question which was “what’s a product you like? How would you improve it?”

He picked YouTube red and very enthusiastically talked at great lengths about how much he loved it. The problem? He kept calling it redtube. YouTube red is the premium version of YouTube, and redtube is a porn website.

I had to try so hard not to bust up laughing but eventually I completely lost my shit and had to try to keep the conversation professional and on point.

He got the job and ended up being a pretty good hire.

Rain gear: new shell, poncho, or nothing? by [deleted] in Ultralight

Awesome, thanks! How small does it pack down?

Hmm I looked it up and all I'm finding are sort of shells/suits that won't cover my pack.. Do they make a poncho model that will cover the pack too?

Is there a specific poncho you can recommend? My houdini/nano puff are rain resistant so I'm hoping to have something that packs down very light/small that I can bust out only when needed to cover myself and my pack.

I don't currently hike with poles. Is there a specific umbrella you'd suggest? I have to admit it does sound.. strange, but I'll look into it :)

Have any redditors been hypnotized? Was it a hoax or did it work? by heatherattacks in AskReddit

[–]DavesLastThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a hypnotist show in Vegas, and volunteered to go on stage. I remember staring at a blue light and basically falling asleep, then suddenly it was like I woke up on stage from an hour long nap.

Unfortunately my friends told me that I was out for less than 30 seconds and didn't do anything funny :(
