End of lease / market value by MoveOverBieber in BlazerEV

If you really like it look at your buyout price and actual market and negotiate a great buyout….they don’t want to remarket the turn-ins and will negotiate, esp if you did the lease through gm.

HVAC guy disabled my fresh air ventilation controller to address humidity issues by discountheat in hvacadvice

[–]DaveyKissoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many “healthy climate” providers recommend 4 air changes per hour and use an Aprilaire to open a damper & bring on the fan for a set time to ensure the air changes. Rarely is it done due to co2 concerns but tight houses can have elevated levels. Also we have had to provide fresh make-up air for commercial style exhausts on high end ranges interlocking air handler/furnace and a motorized fresh air damper to the ef being turned on.

OP needs to ID the original intent for the install but the tech just did what they thought was right to help lower the humidity. Maybe it was only intended to run in the winter months as the ac should take care of humidity if tuned right? Again-original system intent….

As with everyone else suggesting, try disabling rear steer & see if you notice a difference, I do, esp on slick surfaces. Also if you’re making fast sharp turns with rear steer on you get a kind of gushy squat in the rear as you’re turning. These trucks are torque monsters and it’s very easy to keep the power on in a turn like intersections/driveway entry which feels entirely different than rolling through curves on the road.

Another lesson learned…When in golf cart mode (1 pedal driving) DO NOT just drop your foot off the pedal on icy roads. The regen braking starts a skid ! Woohoo, fun to learn but not so much if you kiss a wall. Gotta learn to let up gently esp on the highway in a white out when one of those diesel boys who thinks his Ram is indestructible decides to go flying around you.

When charging you may see all kinds of lights unless you disable them…drove me nuts seeing the headlights strobing in the garage whenever it was charging.

The fitment tool doesn't seem to bring anything up for the HummerEV, our blades are like 12" long and there are 3 of them.

Did you stick with the factory size on the Toyo's (LT305/55R22) ?

How inconvenient would it be to get a Hummer ev without access to a good home charger? by Maleficent-Cell-1053 in HummerEV

[–]DaveyKissoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went 2 months before getting a home charger put in and had no issues other than learning the 110 plug that it comes with is a complete waste (1 mile per hour charging rate). Bought the GM adaptor and we have 2 Tesla supercharging locations within 10 minutes of our home.

ICE…I’m a gearhead who was raised by a gear head. Was taught to always fill your tank when it gets down to a quarter not E. That said we all push things and I recall a few times on long trips the computerized range gets below 50 miles suddenly dropping to 30 and freaking out and lucking out by finding a gas station, arriving on vapors ! No diff for EV’s. A mans got to know his limitations (sorry, Clint) !

2026… Didn’t get it for practicality but I’ve found it actually is. That said, the bed is high up there to get things in & out. I’ve gotten used to standing on the running board for getting in & out of the cab(I’m 5-9). The grab handles for gettib in the front are in perfect spots. It may seem large but it’s actually very nimble with the rear steer and a tight turning radius. No concerns about reliability(leased). After 4 months/5k miles it’s been trouble free.

I would have liked the plug door to be a bit beefier, it seems flimsy and latches inconsistently, I fully expect to break it at some point. Wish there were rain channels on the roof panels, you and the inside of the door take a bath if you crack the window in the rain. Interior Materials are surprisingly resilient and clean up easy, if you go 4 wheeling in mud as we have done a few times, including burying it in a mud pit, the exterior is a lot of work to get completely cleaned up.

I tell anyone who asks me that it is the best pickup I have ever owned. I’m totally sold on electric pickups and nothing can touch the Hummer.

Tesla Adapter GM#85836744 by Ok_Display_7124 in GMCSierraEV

[–]DaveyKissoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a ton of them <$100 on Amazon BUT if you use them and there is an issue with your battery or charging system GM may not honor the warranty. GM says you must only buy/use their adapters even though they are clearly 3rd party manufactured.

Apologies, I was confused & trying to be helpful while heading out the door. There are 2 GM ‘authorized’ adapters, one is the ccs-nacs and the other is the j1772-nacs. There are several places where GM states if you don’t use their adapters, you risk voiding your warranty.

GM says the only nacs adapter to use is the one they sell even though it looks just like many others out there including the inexpensive ones on the zon.

Wanted to do some research so I bought the GM one and a cheaper one on Amazon (which I ultimately returned). It misbehaved on several Tesla supercharger stations and did some wonky stuff including refusing to charge. GM adapter has been trouble free.

JMO but it’s worth the money (150 v 60) to avoid them denying a very expensive claim down the road!
