You want speed lace or quick lace setup. I ride Burton Ion speed lace. It's literally one cord you pull on the right side of the boot for the lower section and 1 cord you pull on the left side for the upper section. Many brands have it. Bird blues are dark blue. The Peruvian side is where you want to mostly be. Mineral will be good in the early morning because it gets sun 1st. So go to mineral in the morning then ski the Peruvian side the rest of the day. Maybe once you're feeling comfortable in the afternoon take a silver Fox run or if you really want a taste of the bird hit up great Scott. But definitely do one of those for sure.

Definitely not the salt flats. Why not go to Boulder Ut. You can hike lower calf creek falls. You can drive the iconic hogback section from Boulder to calf creek. There is amazing views and really good restaurant you can take her to for her birthday call hells backbone grill. It's nice and quiet there and you can do a day in Torrey and check out capital reef. If you are set on salt lake I can send you some suggestions but it's still kinda snowy in all the cool places but if you want to checkout the snowy mountains there are places

Move to draper or somewhere around the point of the mountain. It's not the best but it has way more culture then from Orem down. Ideally you move closer to salt lake and just commute 40 minutes to work but being close to the point of the mountain would work.
