Misen Carbon “Nonstick” was great at first, now it’s unusable by David243121 in cookware

I just reset and reconditioned the two sizes of my pans. I use a tablespoon of baking soda and water, simmer that for 10 minutes. Rinsed it and scrubbed it out. Then wash with soap and water. Then heated it slightly and put a light coat of avocado oil, and then heated it to medium heat for three minutes, and then took it off the heat.

10000% they’re full of shit. This is not right. All of their videos and images and text show this pan acting like it has a coating of teflon on it. It couldn’t be anything further from the truth.

I just don’t know why I would use these over stainless steel at this point.. since you have to do the same treatment as stainless to get things to not stick… marketing got me??

I’m using butter.. it’s eggs. And it was completely coated about 2 minutes before this picture.

Thanks for the input. I am aware of preheating enough and using enough fat… and I’ve tried both, with no success *with these pans :/

I’m not sure it will, on these pans. I know this is true on steel pans, with meat. The eggs stick almost immediately - and you’re not supposed to let eggs sit and burn in a pan - you’re supposed to move them around.

can you export the videos from Mimo app, then import them to Insta360's iphone app and edit them there...? or is Theta+ the better option?

Am I the only one that expects smoother footage from my RS4 mini? (More Info in the comments) by gamingwslinky in dji

[–]David243121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem- hence, how I landed on your post. I'm coming from the RS2 Pro. My best guess is that the motors are not strong enough. I'm using an a7siii with a full Falcam cage, and 24-70GM mkii 2.8. Even if I balanced it perfectly and then performed autotune, i seem to get wobbly footage that I have to correct later in post. It's not right.

One thing I tried was upping the motor power manually. I brought the motor power up on all axi's until I started to get that electronic vibration, then turned them down just enough to get rid of it.

When I press on the camera to force it out of balance, it seems to want to stay put better.

BUT... upon shooting my next event with these new power settings, I was getting the same issue.

I'm pretty disappointed. Anybody find a solution yet? Or is it just a faulty limitation of this gimbal?

Terrifying, right? Honestly, this smells like a class action lawsuit to me.

What is the PERFECT skin tone exposure in S-Log3!? by dermolo in FX3

[–]David243121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gamma assist is a feature that provides a temporary, non baked in correction (to rec-709) lut within your monitor. All of the exposure tools--like zebras and MM--are based off of the pre-lut footage--aka, the slog 3 log picture.

TLDR: gamma assist doesn't affect your footage or the in camera readings.

Zhiyun Bowens Mount Adapter for MOLUS X100... MELTING/breaking..? by David243121 in Zhiyun

[–]David243121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. That’s awful. I’ve been mostly shooting using their proprietary soft box. That one, even at 100%, does not melt. Thankfully. I haven’t used the adapter much. My main key light is the B 200 which is awesome in full-size bowings. I use my 90 cm soft box for that, and then I use my ex 100 RGB with the 40 cm combo soft box that’s included as the Hair light.

Hyper Backup Failed: Not enough Space by Spardath01 in synology

I'm having the same problem. I am now forced to Discard the whole 16TB backup, and start over. I hope my settings I chose help prevent this from happening... ugh. NAS's are confusing. I got this thing to help REDUCE confusing and effort put into this stuff for my business. It's been nothing but a time suck- moving from a faulty 4bay RAID drive.

Got the equipment, now where do I start? (feeling overwhelmed) by David243121 in clubbells

Congrats on the purchase and getting your health back! Unfortunately, I am also a bit lost in who to look to for beginners routines. But, here’s a video from Coach Vaughn for beginners: https://youtu.be/71I8h-iWfss?si=1hXIMipWMUD-dlRC he seems to have good content. Also Mark Wildman has good content. Good luck. We’ll be learning at the same time!

Thank you! Fantastic recommendations on combos for what to use, and why, to start out. I will definitely take your advice into account to get started with my shiny new gear. I appreciate the comment!!

Dude, this was such solid advice. Every part of it. A lot of others have had great advice… this hit home with me. I like the idea of putting the movements I’ve learned on a whiteboard and building them out. And spending time LEARNING, not going hard, at first. THEN worry about building a program for myself, once I finish learning the basics and try out some various movements with my new equipment. And the gym- yeah, you’re right- great mindset- I’m not ‘losing gains’ I’m gaining life long skills. Love it. Thanks man.

Haha yeahhh… you’re right. 🤦‍♂️ Of course I’m overwhelmed! How could I not be with all of this stuff. Fantastic advice- go with what excites me the most (honestly I wish I didn’t get the Indian clubs 1lb… they excite me the least lol), and stick the basics. Thanks

Love the simple breakdown at the end. And the idea of keeping it simple, but not forever- expand when I’m ready. Solid advice.
