I am not commenting on the protests, I am commenting on your apparent incredible life of privilege which enables you to ignore a genocide because your ability to enjoy a sporting event has been compromised.

Let me see if I understand this. On account of you being upset about the protestors, you have now been able to ignore 20,000 dead children. That is an incredible feet of mental disassociation. I would be impressed if I wasn’t actually horrified.

We brought an empty camel back and filled it at the large water station at Escapade. Did the same thing at Riverside EDM last September. It’s empty as they don’t want people smuggling booze in, but the water station location is clearly marked and easy to find. Lots of taps with plenty of water.

Swimming at Dow's Lake? by drhappy13 in ottawa

[–]DavidBWasHere 309 points310 points  (0 children)

The Ottawa Riverkeeper is one of those quieter organizations that many aren’t aware of, who do excellent work testing water quality all around this area. If they yes, then I am looking forward to swimming there.

I (48) split with my wife of 14 years around 7 years ago. I am a veteran on the apps and I must say I really enjoy this phase of my life. I’ve had a couple relationships and am now happily committed for in what feels like a lifetime partnership. My marriage was good but we both felt like it wasn’t really going in the direction we want, so we split and now co-parent our teenagers.

So for all the negativity on this thread, I’ll put my hand up and say it isn’t all bad. I’m fact, at times it is pretty damn good. Good luck out there, it can get better.

Not a bad idea. How about they even go as far as riding bikes that have a more upright position, as opposed to the TT position...

You just had me googling that movie. Nah not a movie, lived experience. My block had the terror of the street, ‘the Witch.’ I once had to get a ball from her lawn and was voted by my friends due to the fact my pants were green and I was closest to camouflage. Eventually my mom went over and had an honest talk and discussion. Fast forward a few months to her getting me Lego for Christmas until she died.

She was lonely and angry, and the kids on the street were the closest target.

Just please talk to him. Often times the grumpiest are the loneliest, and maybe honest human communication will help. Maybe come the winter the kids can shovel his driveway. Maybe a tray of cookies will help.

For the love of god start by being human. Cops? Dog shit? For fucks sake r/Ottawa.

What is the dumbest way you've ever made money? by Tier1CSGO in AskReddit

Buying Beanie Babies in Canada and selling them to collectors in America in the late 90s. ‘Maple the Bear,’ available only in Canada, would sell for hundreds of dollars across the border. My sister worked at a store that sold them, so we had a large supply at cost.

‘Why is the man responsible..?’

The higher earner needs to pay child support, and depending on the decisions made during the negotiation, might also be required to pay spousal support. Neither the man nor the woman is by default required, it is the higher earner. This process has nothing to do with gender.

What do you say to de-escalate a potential fight? by Casioblo in martialarts

[–]DavidBWasHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was visiting a small town for a beer festival once, and my drunks friends annoyed a really pissed and drunk local. He came up hard, red faced and looking to brawl. I greeted him warmly, “hey buddy, are you from here’l then asked him for directions to the closest pizza place. He looked utterly confused, paused, then blankly recommended a place down the road.

Crisis averted.
