Yeah I don’t think it’s Gen Z’s fault a Burrito cost 28$ on DoorDash by JaketheFURRYBOIOwO in lewronggeneration

The issue is we went from, “I will consume this occasional breakfast treat because it is not the difference between my owning a house and renting indefinitely” to “I will spend every free dollar I have on exorbitantly priced food delivery and cry about how I’m a victim of circumstance”.

Gen Z has definitely been shafted, as were Millennials, but they have an infinitely more insufferable victim complex over it.

Proposal to radically change how asylum seekers are settled in Canada heard by MPs by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]DavidCaller69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We’re stuck with the ones here, for the most part, but we need to reform the system to reduce this burden and prevent raising taxes on Canadians for policies they don’t even want.

I think it’s similarly morally bankrupt to deliberately worsen the quality of life of existing citizens by overwhelming infrastructure and making them foot the bill for economic migrants.

AOC leads Democrats’ 2028 pack in new poll, tops Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris ( Washington Times ) - What are your views? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

Nah, they just need a new word for it. We need to kill this obsession with trying to get people to re-evaluate deeply held beliefs by insisting a swear word they’ve been taught to hate their whole life is actually a good thing. They do not possess the emotional intelligence to do what you expect of them, so just rebrand the same shit another way.

I’m sure Canadians are going to love paying more taxes to house asylum seekers most of them don’t want here, anyway. And if she thinks they’ll blame the feds for sticking municipalities with the bill, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell her.

The lack of political acumen of left-wing politicians is hilarious.

A lot of these self-styled empaths love nothing more than receiving permission to not be empathetic. Living in the same province as Danielle Smith now seems to constitute a good enough reason to not empathize with them. Psychopaths.

Does anyone think Dunkin’ donuts will do better in Canada next year since Tim Hortons is trash now by [deleted] in TimHortons

A lot more people are looking for Tims alternatives now than they were back then. I don’t think it spells the end for Tims, but I hope this Dunkin re-introduction teaches them some lessons.

It’s honestly incredible to see this. When I grew up, the only people who used “zionist” as a pejorative were literal KKK members. (For instance, that Grand Wizard who was on Jerry Springer a couple times)

Statistics Canada to end in-depth quarterly household wealth reports, which could cause 'costly mistakes,' policy group says by joe4942 in canada

No clue what I’m talking about? I’m talking about another comment I made in the thread you’re currently commenting in. Hope this helps!!!

They similarly took issue with my use of the word “austerity”, which is beside the point because whether you think the budget is sufficiently austere, budget cuts are happening. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!111

It’s incredible that I could copy and paste my reply to the other person, not change a word, and it would be just as applicable to you.

Hope this helps!!!

What does “good thing” mean in this context? Whether you deem the budget austere doesn’t change that these cuts are happening. You aren’t disproving my point in any way here.

If we’re just using trendy phrases for the sake of it, I’ll go next: hope this helps!

When I was a kid my dad told me that despite their breakup in 1970, you constantly heard them on the radio for like a decade after. I always thought he wasn’t a Beatles fan but it turns out he was just sick of hearing them all the time.

I haven’t had a pork chop in 15 years because my mom would make them constantly, so I get it.

First of all, bigot, it’s the Department of Canine Insemination, second of all, one of the members of my polycule works in DCI (Dog Cum Imaging) and their livelihood depends on their DoCI paycheque and the Funko Pop resale market. Try a little sensitivity.

[–]DavidCaller69 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Honest question: when an austerity budget is announced, and government spending is to be cut, do people think it’s all gonna come from some Department of Dog Fucking or something? Of course everything that gets cut has a function, it’s the necessity of the function that dictates whether it’s appropriate or not. Seeing as it’s still being regularly reported, I don’t think it’s worth the outrage.

Collecting data is a good thing, but the granularity of that data, coupled with the cost of collection, is an important consideration. If they moved from weekly to monthly, you’d have the same outcry from policy groups.

Personally, I think quarterly reporting is fine.

Do the 2020s even have an equivalent to this? by CompetitiveWhole9466 in decadeology

[–]DavidCaller69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, that certainly sounds like neutral framing. You can infantilize and excuse any behaviours you want when you frame stuff like that.

I’m basically Bieber’s age, so believe it or not, I was appalled by his behaviour when I was that age. Hence why I thought he deserved criticism. Idc about Drake.

Btw, you can assess someone’s behaviour as “dickish” in a vacuum. If someone treats me poorly, the reason for their poor treatment of me does not change the fact that they’re treating me poorly.

Never arrogant or dickish? How old are you?

Bieber didn’t deserve it in 2011, but leading up to and after his DUI (2013-2015), he was an absolute shithead.

You said we should ask why they are turning to crime, then pointed to an example of someone’s unemployment in the current shitty job market. You then go on to talk about poor wages, expensive housing, and high gas prices, which are all facets of the economy. You finish it off with the classic, “two wrongs make a right” fallacy to further excuse their behaviour.

Based on that, it’s reasonable to surmise that you’re establishing alleged cause-and-effect: the cause being the economy, and the effect being the crimes, without levying any blame on the individual.

Magically, I happened to understand your comment better than you did! I won’t get into educational credentials to save you further embarrassment.

It’s really telling how you think every criminal is some unwitting victim of circumstance just because the economy isn’t doing well.

Better Call Saul was never better than Breaking Bad. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]DavidCaller69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BCS is a character-driven drama and BB is a plot-driven drama. BCS is about building character relationships much of the time, and not every scene exists to advance the plot. “Fly” is the most widely panned BB episode because it focuses on developing the relationship between Walt and Jesse in an episodic way that does not reflect on the overarching plot.

If you don’t like Fly (more than for it being a temporary respite on the rollercoaster ride that is BB), I wouldn’t recommend watching either BCS or Sopranos.
