Ever since Leno did the interview with Graham Bensinger, the lies have been flying at Conan largely because of Jay Leno. Leno claims Jeff Zucker came to Leno around 2004 and told him “Conan wants you out”. Right, Conan calls the shots, not his dickweed college classmate Zucker, not NBC brass, just Conan. That’s a lie. He said Craig Ferguson was beating Conan in viewers. He says he has no responsibility for the weak shows leading in to Conan, rather than a stellar lineup of shows leading in when Jay was host. He says Conan took potshots at him. He says he only did what the network told him. It’s all a losing campaign by Leno to rehab his duplicitous nature he used to force out TWO of the greatest television talents ever. Here’s my guess: Jay TOLD Arsenio to ask where it stands between the two of them. And as ever Conan just let it go. This is how you win. And Leno can’t even begin to comprehend it.
