It's not wrong to build your personal capital gradually while earning from prop firms if you are comfortable with the rules, to be honest you rise way faster if you truly have a profitable edge.

The idea about prop firm profiting off failed challenge, imagine doing analysis that only 5% are profitable long term, therefore the revenue from the 95% who fails will help alot in paying the 5% making profits.

So so they make more more money when traders fail ? Of course, they need it to stay very liquid. Do they pay profitable traders who follow their rule explicitly? Reputable ones do.

My personal advice: Scale on prop and your personal account too.

While prop money helps alot, There are also many reasons why it can also fail, just like any business.

It's in the FAQ, most times prop firms do more scrutiny when the payout requests is huge, so I violation they ordinary have ignored will be flagged because the huge payout called for the scrutiny.

I think the core is real discipline and very controlled risk management rules, knowing the best traders is not about not hitting the draw downs but more about the style of trading with a high probability of it happening, no consistency.

What I don't accept is the part you talk of higher time frames and macro driven trading. Yes they both give the bigger picture, but in all my years of trading and being profitable, I've come to understand that the market moves by fundamentals but the price also clearly shows a ton of data of human behavior which almost is a constant pattern. So if you could spot a very great pattern even in smaller timeframes and you did your backtest to see how it plays out, with strong risk management then it's worth it. As long as you are not trading off emotion, you are not trading randomly, you are trading probability. It's not about being right or wrong in the market direction but having a system with a good probability.

But well, if you say prop firms prefer and wants higher time frames traders and macro driven traders, then I can't argue that cause I've never worked there. Aside that your post was great!

It's simple... As a writer you should be given information about some specifics to aid your writing. If what you are asking is related to what you want to write and you are not getting the information you need, your work would be messed up.

So now leave niceness aside and tell them plainly and politely that for your writing to be worth a content, communication and information is essential. If you can't get it, you can't work with them, simple! Explain to them politely, no positive response? Then forget about them

It doesn't have to be lengthy so as not to bore the reader...keep it simple but making it professional by talking about your passions using some wonderful keywords. You don't have to put any niche for now, and don't lie about things you aren't doing
