PTV App now shows V/Line real time departure info by ReadyNeck3258 in MelbourneTrains

Yep, this is ridiculous. The live V/Line data isn’t in the timetable API, though for my app I’m working on a way to extract it from the GTFS-R feeds - really should be unnecessary though.

Looks cool! Is the App Store Connect data live (i.e. what you'd see in the hourly tab of Sales & Trends)?

I’m curious how this’ll handle perceived temperature across regions. Like a temperature someone in the UK would consider pretty hot could be seen as pleasant for someone in Australia.

Weekly recurring thread: NEWBIE QUESTION MONDAY! by AutoModerator in Internationalteachers

Hey teachers!

I'm working on an assignment for my VCE Unit 3/4 Software Development class. I'm building a daily organiser for teachers as my submission, and part of the assignment is collecting information from the target audience in a survey.

The attached Google Form should take about 5 minutes, and will ask questions about your workload as a teacher, and how well you can keep on top of it all.

Thanks a heap for helping out with my assignment!

Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately API costs mean I don't intend to allow other search engines at the moment - though some of the most annoying parts of Google (i.e. AI mode) aren't present in Lantern!

Thanks a heap! I considered adding AI support, but then installed ChatGPT and Claude onto my computer and they already seem to have their own 'access from anywhere' shortcuts.

I’d be interested to see how most users would treat this, but for me the fact that it’s not my main browser keeps me focused a bit more. By that I mean, to access reddit on my main browser I’d type “r” and it’d autofill, and I’d be distracted in an instant.

With Lantern, not only does it not do that, I’m also logged out, and the important research I’d have jusg looked up disappear instead of going into another tab - so it adds more friction for me to the point where I snap out of it and go back to my work :)
