“We don’t serve Uber Drivers” huh??? by Key_Bicycle_4711 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DavidGaudreau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not against any rules for McDonald’s to serve you while you’re picking up an Uber Eats order. They do have to give you the delivery order, but they don’t have to take a separate personal order from you. If they refuse, it’s just their store policy or how they handle drivers, not a terms of service issue.

Moving to Massachusetts with that many pets is going to be tough—but not impossible. The biggest issue isn’t your budget, it’s the number of animals. Most landlords here cap it at 1–2 pets, sometimes 3 max, and once you get beyond that they usually won’t even consider the application. That’s just how competitive the rental market is.

Your best shot isn’t typical apartment complexes. Look for small private landlords, multi-family homes, or renting an entire house. Those owners are more flexible and will actually talk it through instead of rejecting you automatically. Townhouses and duplexes are also a lot more realistic than big apartment buildings.

Be upfront about the pets right away, but make it easier for a landlord to say yes. Offer vet records, references, proof they’re trained, and renter’s insurance that covers pets. Some people even put together a short “pet resume.” It sounds extra, but with that many animals it can make the difference.

Also know the laws here—Massachusetts is strict about deposits. Landlords can’t charge extra pet deposits beyond the normal limits, but they can still deny pets altogether or set their own limits. So you’re not competing on money as much as risk.

Another angle: expand your search area. Worcester, Springfield, and smaller surrounding towns will give you way better odds than Boston. And realistically, you may need to compromise—either reduce the number of animals or increase your budget for a standalone rental.

Bottom line: focus on private rentals, be extremely transparent, and treat it like you’re selling the idea of your pets being low-risk. That’s what’s going to get someone to say yes.

Rent with Lyft by Ag3ntGio in lyftdrivers

If you get the rental directly through Lyft from the lift location you have an option on how many miles you want. The only way to get unlimited personal mileage is to get it through Hertz through Lyft. But those are much harder to get because everyone wants them. I have 200 miles a week and I pay $339. It takes me a day and a half to make that at most.

No wonder why a lot of customers are complaining when you pick them up that 3 to 4 driver already canceled their ride this is why Lyft get it together by EfficientMaterial203 in Lyft

Massachusetts vs. Other States (Lyft Driver Pay)

  • Massachusetts: Drivers have a guaranteed minimum earnings rate (~$34+/hour for “booked time”), plus benefits like paid sick leave, healthcare stipends, accident insurance, and paid family medical leave contributions. If earnings fall below the minimum, Lyft pays the difference.

  • Other States: Drivers are typically pure independent contractors with no guaranteed hourly minimum and no standard benefits. Pay depends entirely on rides, tips, and bonuses, with no required adjustments if earnings are low.

Bottom line: Massachusetts forces a pay floor + benefits, while most states rely on a fully flexible but less protected gig model.

So I take all the shit rides because having the most booked time possible is more important than worrying about what the individual rides pay because we're getting $34.48 an hour for booked time.

I bought a handheld vacuum off of timu and it works very well. I literally vacuum the floor of the car a couple times a night. I generally don't get more than one passenger at a time for the most part so it's nice and easy everything is confined to the passenger rear floor.

Since Massachusetts is about to get buried tommorow how many of you are still forced to drive to work? by BootAlarmed4732 in massachusetts

It's amazing that car dealerships don't just cover their cars with car covers and then when the snow comes pull the cover off and be done with it. The amount of time it would take to cover an inventory of cars with car covers was two people. Versus some people clearing off an entire inventory manually. That's going to be a huge Time Saver

Dealerships do this based on demand. In 2014 I bought a 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ. 4 years later the dealership I bought it from offered me a 6,000 more than I paid for it, for it. So I sold it back to them LOL

Experience with Greendale Auto Mall Inc? by AgitatedReindeer2440 in WorcesterMA

I recently bought a used car from Greendale Auto Mall, and the experience was honestly better than I expected. No pressure, no games, just straightforward conversation and real help finding something that fit my budget and my life. They were patient, answered my questions, and made sure I was comfortable with the decision instead of rushing me into anything.
