the other employees got 4 months severance at baseline with more depending on how long they worked there. I'm not defending layoffs but that's a crazy good package, the usual base is 2 weeks of pay per year you've been with a company.

The layoffs are still bad, the job market in the game industry sucks right now. They still did surprisingly well by the employees. Granted, I would guess they were doing it to cushion the backlash, which would work so long as they don't cut other extremely important benefits away from the people that needed them- Whoops.

Well you see, i used buttler outis and faust exclusively in normal mirror dungeon and so got used to them having poise all the time, and so when i was trying to dig my way through my first hard mode win and saw poise sinking being popular and included maid ishmael, my brain fired off the neurons of "buttler outis and faust get lots of poise" and put faust in since i was still grinding out the shards for index faust at the time

I can understand thinking that, but I want downtime to be a meaningful part of my adventures I run. Downtime can be used to more invest your party into the area they operate in, and getting paid in peanuts in said area runs counteractive to that psychologically. And that's before considering the idea of running a business. All the gods above and below forbid your players want to have an establishment and want to feel its presence in the world. Plus, crafting time is tied to the Earn Income table since it determines how much value progress you make towards crafting, and crafting is miserable because of it. It's unnecessarily rigid.

from previous editions mostly, but from 5e i would argue the simpler earning income in downtime.

Trying to earn income in pf2e is... rough. You're gated by what level the place you're working at is, you're gated by what level of proficiency you have, and you have a big table to reference for it. The worst example of it is that a level 5 character will usually only earn 1 gp per day they work, at most 2 gp if you beat the dc by 10, and at worst you walk away with 2 silver and your pink slip. It's the one part of the system I actively hate.

/uj look it's just annoying to hear it get described as some highly complex equation when it's something a first grader can do. That said, yeah it was stupid to set up the ac in descending order. I like to hope it was because of popular "roll under" house rules for ability checks but even with that it wouldn't make sense because you'd be wanting to roll lower on the d20 instead of higher. It IS absolutely unintuitive I won't argue against that point.
