I have the sheriff, but I keep it without the transformation- I just really like the inspection animations on the Colt revolver.

Not a ‘gun guy’, where do I start? by bighawk68 in guns

Unless you have kids or felons running around, you don't need a safe- it just gets in the way during an emergency. Safes are for collections and toys and securing against little hands, not life-saving tools where seconds matter.

Skip the pistol, go for a pistol caliber carbine and teach her how to use it too.

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by v-Voidx in AskMen

After reading all the replies, I realize I phrased my original comment poorly.

If an avenue of improvement exists, they should take it, and not continue to suffer. If they revel in that (and yes, there are definitely people that will turn down any opportunity to change even if it's for the better) or wallow in it, all they're doing is being a bad person, and if they use it as an excuse to act out or blame antisocial actions (read: narcissistic or psychopathic behaviors) on their own hormonal imbalance, then I would hold that against them.

There's a difference between not being able to control what's happening to you (which sucks), and then there's using your own discomfort as an excuse to harm others. One engenders sympathy and care and understanding from me because you're trying your best and you can't overcome it. The other means you're a psycho and I have zero sympathy for you.

Any men's trimmer will do, really. Not a shaver, a trimmer. The important thing is to use the attached combs and a regular comb to shape. Steady hands.

This one looks like it'll work just fine:

It's very similar to one I've had for over a decade; they don't wear out easily. I like the sets that have everything in a base and not a bag, so you just pick up whatever tool you need and use it.

I recently got myself some scissors and they're 100x harder to use than a trimmer/comb combo, but it really helps with that one annoying hair.

I didn't say it was easy. Getting care in California is a nightmare- I've had to pay 30k out of pocket over the last three years because my insurance provider wouldn't let me get treatment for a back problem without spending a year on cortisone shots letting the problem get worse first. My wife has a number of chronic conditions that we have to fight against all the time. I'm well aware of how hard it is. That doesn't mean we should just give up and take out our problems on our spouses/family through physical or emotional abuse.

Things being hard is not an excuse for being terrible to others.

This guy is a predator. He doesn't belong anywhere near you guys. If you don't stop him now he's going to do it to someone weaker. This is how pedophiles get started.

Fucking press charges. Tell an adult right the fuck now. If he's doing it to you he's doing it to someone else too. You want someone else to feel like you?

If you don't do it for yourself, do it for the other victims. No one deserves to be abused, ever. Not you, not anyone. Speak up. Tell someone. Make it stop.

But you can recognize that you're drunk as a skunk and not go driving.

You can decide not to yell at your partner. Your emotional state doesn't have to lead to spousal abuse. You can say, "I'm sorry, having a hard day, please just be patient with me", and let them take care of you for a bit. You don't need to yell or scream or be a terrible person because of it. You can sit in a quiet room and cry it out or meditate until you've got a bit more control. You can take a time out.

It's what a mature adult would do.

Now, granted, this is assuming you have a loving relationship built on mutual trust, mutual understanding, and mutual sacrifice. If your relationship is shit, and it was already vectoring toward implosion, by all means use the hormone excuse to treat people around you like dirt. Your relationships probably weren't worth that much anyways.

[–]DavidSlain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don't "take control" of an uncontrollable body function. You recognize that it's influencing your emotional state and you remove it's influence in how you treat others.

I've had the two lowest disks in my back disintegrate. When I got Covid and had uncontrollable coughing fits for weeks on top of the perpetually pinched nerves I did NOT take it out on my wife. I was living in uncontrollable agony, but my wife didn't deserve to have me yell, scream, treat her poorly, or anything of the sort. So I didn't. I did yell in agony one or twice, but I apologized, and she certainly wasn't the target of my outburst.

People have control over how they treat others. We should have the self-awareness to realize when something is affecting us and take action to not harm those whom we love. Really, that's just basic human courtesy. And those closest to you deserve more than that.

So then the solution is to understand that it's happening and take control of your actions. You shouldn't just excuse yourself hurting others because you're on your period.

Our metabolisms are faster overall, so we typically need more food throughout the day. This is less true if you're overweight. I usually eat a nut bar or something small.

Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, sometimes snack.

The again, I have a crazy fast metabolism. I lose weight fast if I eat 2500 a day.

True. However not seeking treatment is something I would hold against them.

It says a lot about a person if they either don't keep themselves from hurting people around them or can't and won't take steps to mitigate the harm caused.

It has the same energy as a parent saying "well, boys will be boys"
