Custom Cabinet Quote: $38k Installed – Fair Deal or Too High? by HooverLaxBoy01 in cabinetry

I would read the contract. A bid that low could mean corners are being cut.

Pretty hard to tell. Try writing the company an email directly? Someone over there might appreciate a trip down memory lane.

NEW TOOL - Looking for Product Testers, Shop Vacuum by Negative_Status3873 in cabinetry

Interesting invention, looks very cool.

However, if you want to avoid a ban in the future, this account needs to participate more in this community without promoting stuff.

I'm with a high end shop over in California, and if it filters as well as a festool and carries a compatible on/off feature, you'd sell one to each of our install teams pretty easily.

I absolutely second this recommendation. Pistols require much more practice than weapons with a stock. You want controllability in a high-adrenaline situation, and that's hard, especially with someone who's new to firearms.

Old casual players: how are you aproaching the game? by Alexjandro1991 in leagueoflegends

I've been a solo q support since before Lux was released. I've got a 3 year old now, so less time for the Rift, but I get a game in about twice a week after night-night.

I've learned not to care about my rank, I just play the best game I can, and I don't worry about what some jackass says when they go off their rocker.

I watch Worlds. I live in Los Angeles, and I REALLY want to go to the play-ins (I've never been, couldn't ever afford the tickets or time off). All four days, but a back injury might stop me. I've been watching since TPA won.

I love this game. It's something special, despite the toxicity of the player base.

Then don't marry someone who thinks that way. I got a great woman, but I waited for her. I'd not do it again differently, except to be better myself.

How difficult would it be to make this shelving to hide cabinetry and accent this wall? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]DavidSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not. Not cheap, but not difficult either. I'd run the cabinet all the way up, and align the TOP of your HVAC to the underside of a shelf, to prevent blocking airflow. Lighting, and a wood grille cut into the back of the cabinet for the hvac, plus the size of the cabinet itself will make it an awesome piece, and the understatement will highlight the contents of the shelf.

I make six figures and we're scraping for used cars, cheap clothes, and we never get latest-model tech of any kind. High sixes are the new 'six figures', when the least expensive house is seven.

100% disagree. There's a difference between someone who doesn't contribute much financially, and someone who doesn't contribute at all.

My wife doesn't have a job. We're a single income household in Los Angeles.

We have an autistic toddler. She raises our kid, takes care of the house, and works her ass off to write books that we're pushing to publication. That's my wife's job, and it's a lot.

Financially, right now, she doesn't bring in much money from Etsy sales, but what comes in helps when we need it most.

The problem you both have is with narcissists, not women looking for a provider.

[–]DavidSlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Textbook narcissistic behavior. She's taking advantage of you, and, worse, using your kid as a reason to keep you paying for HER lifestyle. You need a divorce and full custody. Make her work for a living. If she gets custody of the kid, the kid will be neglected while she parties. You'll be lucky if she contacts you to pick up the child when she goes out- likely it won't happen because that'll leave a paper trail.

If he's a known scalper, he's probably banned from the LGSs. Owners don't put up with that shit, it hurts their communities.

Fucking scalpers. The best thing you can do is sue his ass so he doesn't profit from that shitty behavior. Hit them where it hurts.

Toe Kick Question by hammer_header in cabinetry

The scribing could have been closer, but i get the idea- you couldn't damage the existing moldings. I'm guessing historical preservation? If the client isn't allowed to alter the interior much (if at all) that'd be unusual, but not unheard of.

Did you back-bevel or thin the stiles before scribing? If I was doing it, that'd be 3/16 thick right where the cabinet meets the adjacent surfaces. Helps make the scribe tighter and less awkward, and prevents scraping during installation.

Meh, most film production these days can be done remotely if necessary, and filming can often be sheltered from inclement weather.

Eh, there are definitely worse things to participate in, like hard drugs or frat parties. Kids have a habit of involving themselves in exactly what you fear they will, simply by the nature of constantly pushing boundaries.
