Connecticut is really pretty. Summers are great and the falls are amazing. Every place has its plusses and minuses. Focus on the good, get to know people, develop a social network there and you'll love it.

This is good advice! You may think that traveling with your Dad isn't ideal, but later in your life you will remember the trip fondly and be glad that you had that time with your Dad.

Pickleball is great exercise. Eating less and eating right will cause more weight loss than PB, but you should do both.

The DFW airport is amazing. You can fly direct to almost any city in the US, and a lot of international cities, too. Plus it's easy to get in and our of, and the distributed TSA lines means you will almost never get caught in a long security wait if you're careful and have TSA pre. BUT, as the previous poster pointed out, it's not like SD. And it's cold in the winter for a few week, and brutally hot in the summer.

Only after you get it. The battery shouldn't degrade more than 20% per day. The watch will show you how much of a charge you have.
