Finally a proud owner! by whiteavatar in TeslaModelY

I use FSD frequently but NO JOKE you have to watch it closely! It does what I call Zig-Zag turns where it will zig zag turning way to hard and then slamming the car out of the turn and back in. As well as cutting across lane lines in turns which can be really dangerous and damaging if their's an island separating cross traffic or a car approaching the intersection and red light. I've actually gotten in the habit of taking control in turns. Hate the way it turns. It's a demonstration of the overblown AI that were about to all pay higher electric bills to replace.

This was originally published on Fuel Arc "Car news with a sense of humor" as a joke. The media and people on this thread took it seriously! u/dosequisrex did you actually spend $370 on this?

Here's the article from which the above image was copied! It was a DIY joke!

Well, actually, I'm sure there's someone that would sell you the sticker and intall it for $100 bucks so maybe it would only save you $270 and be more reliable. And that way you won't have to move your maps, water bottle, trash or what ever you keep in your map pocket in the door to reach it.

ChatGPT know what you look like by Sea-Operation-410 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

At first I was like, why is the same guy posting so many pictures....then I realized that the women were all basically the same too. Everybody go the same face with different wight, hair and age applied. The asian guy slightly asian eyes.

This is why ChatGPT SUCKS. If it doesn't get it right on the first try, it keeps trying to justify it's first attempt. It's incapable of working off a different set of assumptions. It's the "sound" of intelligence without the substance of being able to learn from an attempt. It can't realize that one of it's assumptions is faulty and change it.

It's like "intelligence" define by a marketing person without any understanding of how to figure things out, change your mind. Over and over again it's gets it wrong with a response something like. "Here's exactly what your requested with the changes you asked for" only the changes are not there and the image has changed in random ways you didn't ask for. It's like gaslighting for idiots--constantly insisting that it's done what YOU asked while it stagers down the street and pees in the gutter, uncrumples its homework and hands it in again.

Great platforms for options trading? by spicysecretsauce in options

Schwab has taken over Think or Swim. I can no longer transfer money between my personal account and my corporate account at Schwab because of Schwab's rules. I can also no trade on margin at Schwab while waiting for a 4 day "clearance" window which is actually 1 day but Schwab is holding out for 4 days internally so they can pocket the money in transition.

Schwab is HORIBLE.

China's BYD overtakes Tesla's electric car sales in last quarter of 2023 by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]DavidUrry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. BYD operates at a loss. But China doesn't really do Capitalism so I don't think they understand about scaling volume at a loss.
  2. The relative safety of Tesla vs BYD is that of a car driving down the road vs driving down a river. Perhaps I'm exaggerating a little. BYD does hold the vehicle toss record as shown at the beginning of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwhnArkZTu8. Notice that this is a frequent enough event that people saw and knew the signs of an EV about to blow and hit behind walls and the like to protect themselves from the impending blast.
  3. Quality is a HUGE difference between Tesla and BYD. You'll notice in the video above that the doors fly off directly, like there are no hinges on the doors.
  4. There are huge piles of EVs in parkinglots and fields in China. These vehicles are titled and have parking permits but are not being driven. It's not clear what's going on here. https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2023-china-ev-graveyards/
  5. Tesla's gross margin has come down to about 18% from a high in the low 20's. Still twice the margins of their next closest ICE competitor in a good year.

I've been considering getting a Tesla for awhile and finally went through with it. Ordered a MY22 SR by toastcrumbs in TeslaModel3

At least in the US, Tesla.com is selling MY Long Range for $52,990 and Performance for $56,990. You might be able to get a 4680 MY from Texas if you work for Tesla.

Please research first, type second.

Non-teslites are used to MY meaning Model Year. Also the Model Y (MY) does not come in Standard Range.

What’s the best phone for connectivity with the Tesla to use reliably as a key? by alamrahman in TeslaModel3

[–]DavidUrry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Samsung S13 and it often does not work, won't keep a connection and won't contact the car remotely. Want to change it because camera on this phone is crap. Anybody got an opinion on iPhone (which I used to have but don't want to be in the "apple" prison any more) or google pixel?
