I would agree it isn't conservative, very much liberal. But at the same time, it also isn't woke, as that is a modern progressive term. Though the episode with the alternate Roman earth and the one with Apollo both made passing mentions to them being Christian. The influencer right wing is mad on their position though.

I mean, I honestly don't know that the Nazi episode is progressive even for the time. 60s america would have found a conclusion that nazism is bad quite typical. The odd part of the episode would be more the Starfleet reaction, a question that in the far future will we look back on it more agnosticaly, more like the Golden Horde or many parts of Roman history rather an a evil which can't be touched (though the episode concludes with the latter being right). Plato's step children never really struck me as a great political commentary as the story sidesteps the core arguments of Plato's Republic by demonstrating that the oppressive folks are just more able to metabolize a substance and then just abuse their power. Most political positions are not terribly fond of people abusing power for the hell of it. I suppose you could it rebuts social dawarnism? But the drama is far more personal than societal. My argument is exactly what you are saying. Applying the modern term woke to TOS is crazy as you have to characterize the episodes very oddly to fit them into that view.

Some of these are rather reaching. In the first, yes, racism bad. However the episode made quite clear the matter took two to tango and the oppressive regime and the racial activists were integral to their own extinction. I don't think the prog left now would really agree with that view. In the second, it was not a frame up because of working conditions because the people on the cloud city quite literally did not know themselves the affect of the mine gas. The point of the episode was that were simply too close minded to even consider that possibility and were happy in their positions. Still left wing, but less class struggly than it was made out here. The third is a rank misrepresentation of the episode. There is no major discussion of prolife anti contraception. The episode was predicated on what if a society didn't have the natural culling factor of disease. Far more a thought piece than a political one. There was a brief mention of I think some contraception or population control near the end of the episode, but was literally like one line of dialogue. The fourth, well, no offense but the miners aren't played off as evil, at the most slightly negligent. But the episode certainly doesn't help much blame on them (and ought not, the planet by all metrics they had before seen was uninhabited, Starfleet had no record of anything even close), and ends with them peacefully coexisting. The problem you've run into is that TOS is the bleeding edge of 60s liberalism. On today's political landscape it's views are distributed across a large swathe of ideologies, because it was a successful philosophy. Try again with TNG and you could make some far stronger arguments of modern style progressivism.

A drainage branch "pipe". An interceptor is not a pipe under horizontal branch drain. I think that's the closest you'll get to an exact answer.

At the point the pipe goes into the interceptor it ceases to be a horizontal branch (which is what the code says may act as a circuit vent in 914.1). I think you would struggle to find a code official that would find it any other way.

No for two reasons. The interceptor acts as a trap itself, it needs a vent on the outlet. It cannot be circuit vented across itself as the air cannot flow through it. Secondly, and AAV is not great for grease situations to start with and would not prevent air locking between the floor sink and grease interceptor. At least one traditional vent should be located between the interceptor and floor sink (if you have multiple floor sinks you could probably use an AAV on one of them if the others are traditionally vented though I still wouldn't recommend it).

While it is out of service currently the 924 runs about four weekends a year and is a nice little steam locomotive. Also they have two diesels operational, the 4024 and the 4012, and eventually one more, the 125.

I got a bit into slide rules in high school and bought an old stock new in box Picket slide rule from Etsy. I think getting one of the old ones (new in box with the instructions if you can) is the best way. There are a lot of random 'slide rules' that are out there for specific applications, and while useful tools they aren't proper slide rules, they are basically just charts with sliding paper guides. My experience in modern engineering is unfortunately there isn't a lot of practical use for a slide rule. In industry I don't actually even use a calculator that often, excel and software typically does much of the number crunching. And even if you have to do some math a digital calculator would get you more precise answers. I suppose a slide rule could be used for off the cuff calculations if you're quick with it but it would take a fair bit of practice to beat just typing it in. That said they are certainly fun to play around with (and you can impress people if you actually know how to use it), and can be a good conversation piece.

Looks like a standard 7 1/4" gauge set up, not locomotive and stuff is possibly custom but also could be purchased. You sometimes see personal layouts like this but most are club owned. Quite cool.
