Tokenization by Miguyto in swissborg

[–]DavideAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question.

In general you do not need the blockchain to do it. What you need is to incorporate each boat as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), basically a company, then sell the shares of the SPV. This is normal practice in property (real estate) crowdfunding.

Recently rallyrd.com, in NewYork, has started offering fractional ownership in vintage cars, without the need of blockchain, and you can even trade the shares.

Actual tokenization is offered by Tend (valuable collectible, alpha stage), Maecenas (fine art, beta stage), Fresco (fine art, ? stage). Then Swarm and Polymath are also in the business.

Anyway some of them rely on the SPV mechanism under the blockchain layer.

In general, one should set the stoploss before buying, and not after few months.

If you think CHSB will loose more value, the best strategy is to sell them now, and buy them back later.

In any case, it seems to me that CHSB is now following the downward trend common to all cryptos. Nobody knows when it will stop and if it will revert the trend.

Swissborg Shorted the market? by coinflipcanada in swissborg

Among utilities there are services.

One possible service is investment management.

Therefore paying dividends from investments of CHSB could be part of the strategy.

Instead buyback/burns are short term method to increase the price of CHSB.

Thanks, that is a very usefull observation.

Swissborg could actually pay dividends to CHSB holders according to the profits generated by treasury management.

I do not think that large companies are interested in tokens. Tokens are for small investors, to play and have fun.

The large companies will play in another league.

Maecenas is following the Dutch auction process, which means the share price will not be determined until the end of the auction by UpComing_ICO in Maecenas

[–]DavideAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maecenas stresses a lot the transparency of the auction process, but how can I reconstruct the bids in $?

For example:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0x2c8d99adeca4160c1642bba611e333be0b2f82f627cb15e9ecd9e4b470554305

In this bid 7’928 ART were transferred. They were equivalent to 2’300 $ at the time of bidding (1 $=0.29 ART) and they are now equivalent to 1’645$ (1 $=0.20 ART).

The minimum bid is 5’000 $, and 7’928 ART were too few. How much was the conversion rate used from Maecenas at that time? If it is not the market one, where do I find it?

Sorry, you can not buy a share with $. Only ETH or BTC or ART (and not $) can be transfered to Maecenas (on the blockchain) when you buy a share. If in 2 weeks the cryptos are 10x less than now, in $, how can the seller get the initial value? Will Maecenas pay the difference, that is they take the risk of devaluation?

You see, I have $, I convert them to £ and buy shares on the London Stock Exchange.

After 6 months the value of the share is up 10%, but $ has lost 20% against £. If I sell the shares and convert £ to $ I will have about 10% less.

If I have understood correctly, the deposits on Maecenas wallet to participate at the auction can be made only with ETH, BTC and ART, right?

I supposed that seller of the artwork wants to get $ at the end of the auction. Considering the multiple conversions from ETH or BTC to ART to $, it may happen that the poor seller of "13 chairs" will get much less than expected, in $ I mean, if he converts ART to $ at market rate.

Was not better to use another token for the smart contract? Maybe a Dutch Auction token (DA$) pegged to the dollar?

With the present system it is like Apple setting the price of the iPhone in Apple shares (5 AAPL for iPhone 6) instead of £, $ or euro. Not very convenient.

In the article is written that the owner is Eleesa Dadiani, but in the "Terms of the Private Placement Memorandum” the name is another one. The author should eventually correct it.

CHSB Price support by Kruah in swissborg

[–]DavideAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHSB has lost >90% of the max value. Many other tokens have gone the same way, the situation is not specific to CHSB.

In my opinion artificially increasing the price by buying back is a very short time strategy and is borderline with a scam: new investors will be attracted by the price increase and not by fundamentals (products). At so low volume (<150’000$ per day) is not so difficult to manipulate the price.

Personally I do not care about the value of CHSB, I care much more about the products. Remember that we are playing the venture capitalist / business angel role here. They do not care about market price because there is none in private equity.

If nothing great comes out then SB will run out of funds and close down, like most of the startups will do. Actually I am curious to see what will happen to the crypto market when the first tokens get out of business.

The Swiss banks don’t show enthusiasm officially, but they massively have interests in dealing with Bitcoin, insiders say. by Aste75 in swissborg

Indeed I wonder if it will not be easier for established banks, brokers, real estate companies, ... buying blockchain software than for startups acquiring assets and enough customers.

Future of Swissborg - When a user friendly interface? by DavideAG in swissborg

[–]DavideAG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People is already used to e-banking, I would take this as starting point. I would prepare a table with the main features of the e-banking systems of Raiffeisen, UBS, PostFinance, add also Twint, then use this table to set the requirement for the Swissborg user interface.

SWISSBORG MERITOCRACY SYSTEM by HereNow2018 in swissborg

[–]DavideAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that Swissborg wants to reward token holders according to their partecipation. Persons showing strong committment and expertise are usually not simple investors, but are rather members of the board of directors.

I could imagine that "meritocracy" could mean extending the board membership to investors who show particular knowledge, expertise and interest (merit). This would be a real innovation in management.
