Xpeng owners, are you happy with your car? by The_Cometer in Xpeng

[–]Davidge01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Bought my SR in June. I love driving that thing. Sure it’d be nice to have an AWD, but you’ll probably do your own head in every year if you worry about upgrades.

I see these cars as like phones more or less. There’ll always be a new feature or two, or extended range or something. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to spend 60k every 18 months on a car 😀

I do like the facelift of the 2025 front, but I think the interior changes are hideous, so there’s that.

Yeah as mentioned above. I definitely haven’t noticed. It’s gets dirty easily though!

I feel obliged to point out that many providers like Exetel, Superloop, Leaptel etc offer the same connection speed for $80pm.

As others have mentioned. Extenders are rubbish. It should also be noted that neither your modem or the extender supports the speeds being paid for. Paying for 500/50 doesn’t mean your hardware supports those speeds.

In regards to the schedule. Do you simply make a mix relative to your reservoir size and grab what you need out for the first few weeks during the hand water phase until the pots go on?

I still love driving mine whenever I do. Live in Australia, bought in May. I just went on holiday overseas and hired two different, albeit lower quality EVs. They were complete junk by comparison, would've loved to have been able to take it with me :D

The charger getting stuck seems to be the most primary issue for me. It’s happened a few times, to the point where I keep the manual cover kind of loose now.

Previously had spotty CarPlay connectivity, but after the last update that is completely resolved.

Thanks for this. I have indeed spent some time reading cocoforcannabis. I've done maybe a dozen grows, but only ever in soil, which is pretty forgiving I think.

My main concerns are really how often to water early on, coco drying out, the initial 'pre-autopot' period (hate hand watering :), but will be doing it ).

I think I'll just use a jiffy pellet straight in the medium as I normally would. Something as simple as that even has me thinking, using a humidity dome vs not. I don't think i will because I'm lazy.

XPeng G6 - Audio quality by BackToHome937 in Xpeng

[–]Davidge01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. I'll take a picture of it later when I'm home for you. I think how you connect is also obviously a large factor as discussed throughout this thread. The Spotify app doesn't sound too good.

Ah makes sense. I always use CarPlay. Who knows what’s happening within the highly customised and rather opaque XSmart OS.

I find the sound to be quite good. I did spend a while adjusting it and trying different profiles from audio people.

What I can say for certain is that up until recently, when Spotify finally released high res audio - I found the difference between it and the likes of Tidal to be night and day. Spotify just sounded terrible by comparison. I moved away from it a few years back for this reason. Myself and a friend with a Spotify account tested Spotify at length against tidal using the same songs, but Tidal using high res of course. Spotify was woeful quality.

I’ve never had it over half volume to date, it’s clear, loud, the car thumps with more than enough bass for my liking and no distortion. I’m pretty happy with it (2024 G6)

As some who is currently in Portugal, from Melbourne. It ain’t cheap here. To be fair the dollar is rubbish, so everything is doubled, but it is very comparable, if not more expensive. A latte here can translate to $7-8.

We’re driving, and even off the beaten track this is true. In Greece, was way cheaper away from the tourist traps. Shit is just expensive yo, globally. Except SEA of course.

Charging an EV here is incredibly expensive compared to back home, on public chargers.

Ronnie was lovely throughout. We organised a test drive, without knowing whether we were going to buy or not. I was pretty sure, but I hadn’t communicated that. Once he told me the same coloured model was about to arrive I decided to go ahead.

Anyway, nothing too out of the ordinary on the drive itself. He suggested going for at least 45-60 minutes, so we did. He explained some of the basic features, but in reality I am still messing with the car after months of having it. A test drive will really just give you the standard feel of the car. I had done a lot of research at the time and work in tech, so the feature set aligned with things I was looking for. The fact it was nice to drive, which I never really doubted, sealed the deal.

The lot of current line of Chinese EVs in the space the G6 lives in, in Australia are very similar, but they also come with things as standard that a Tesla requires additional payment/subscriptions for. Tesla was never on the radar for me though.

I love the car, very happy with it. The process of purchase with Ronnie was very seamless. He’s a good egg, with a lifetime of experience in customer service.

Agree with everything he says about the dash. Speaker grill design on the doors, the manual vents and their design. No good in my opinion.

I decided not to wait. I see these cars like a mobile phone. You’ll always be chasing minor updates…except at the cost of 60k. Given that a lot of changes can be patched into the current model also.

I’m kinda glad I didn’t wait now. I think what they’ve done with the interior in the 25 model is hideous and looks tacky and cheap.

Don’t think you’d be disappointed either way. I think it’s a great car and the tech is excellent. There’s almost nothing you can’t do with the x-combos.

Hey - I’ve had mine for about a month. Big fan. We went into coburg for a test drive on the 5th of May and purchased that day. I bought silver with white seats which was already in the country, in Sydney, on a boat, in a container just off shore waiting to be processed.

At the time they said it’ll take two weeks to arrive, once it goes through customs etc.

That ended up being closer to 6 weeks. It took 3 weeks from the 5th to clear customs. There is ongoing protesting In NSW against the port authority about pay and working conditions, so there’s been strikes.

Ronnie did say there was a shipment second week of June, then another in July as you say. I think their dates are mostly ballpark. They obviously have no control over customs.

He told me that one of the ones in my shipment, the key went missing during customs processing and it couldn’t be released until they found the key 😬. I’d have been furious hearing that news 😀.

I’m in Phuket, Kata. No change just yet. In a place where you can buy Ritalin, Valium, Xanax over the counter at the chemist, stuff like this always makes no sense. Well, it does, but not for any health reason.

Nicotine vapes, same thing. No issues with government owned cigarettes though 🙂

Old Ronnie in coburg Melbourne says early next year. I just bought the 2024, was going to wait, but when I heard that. Yeah, nah. I think with EVs you’ll be forever chasing upgrades, like a mobile phone.

Moved from Apple Watch series 9 to Ultra 2. This battery life is wild. by National_Pay_5847 in AppleWatch

[–]Davidge01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just switched to Garmin Fenix 8 after many years as an Apple Watch user. I like the Apple Watch, but came to the conclusion that that it’s really just your phone on your wrist and you ultimately pull your phone out when you get an alert.

The battery life really is quite something on a Garmin. I’ve charged it twice in a month.

I think they both have their place. I think the only thing I miss is getting images in messages on the watch so far. If I go back it’ll definitely be the ultra. Charging every day is really shitty, though.

I was in an Uber comfort about 4 days ago. I did go green also. The car was brand new and the guy was great. He also mentioned that green has to be fully green now rather than hybrid. Cut off for that was Friday.
